Hi again everyone :) What is a good program (that isnt pricey..like you know who :P) for creating prop models that can be animated? I need to make a medieval catapult. I bought one a while back, but it looks too toyish..I want to design one that can actually throw rocks..of course..thanx

I wouldn't make a prop, but a figure. More flexible with moveable parts and you can apply pose files easily. Anyway you have to make a mesh first. You need a modeler program or you can try it with Poser primitives.

Anim8or and Wings are both free modelers. And you can get older versions of for instance Cinema4D on magazines sometimes. As Singular3D said, something like a catapult should technically be a character and not a prop. but the first thing is to make the mesh :o) Any modeler can be used, really. What matters is to find a modeler you feel "at home" in.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.

hmm..I made a trebuchet once (but it was cartoony..;) Yup, Wings could do it, if you're patient (stop by the Wings forum, and we'll be glad to help). Wings, generally, is thought of as being a 'box modeler'..you start with a box, and slice and dice until you have a work by Escher (yeah..right..;). It's free, so what do you have to lose?..;) Cylinders and cubes should do it..if I had any spare time lately..I would..;)

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit
