Today I visited Lanhydrock House and found this great door. It is the main entrance and it was busy. There is No Photography in the house and the door was open. "Ok you can take a snap of the door", he said. So I tried. What a wonderful capture this could have been if I had the room and time, but like I said it was busy. I've got to go again and try a different day. Perhaps I can get one halfway decent image. :-( This is the top

Lovely door. I'm sure you can do something with these, but still, I feel your frustration. :)

hope you don't mind but i took the liberty of messin with it real quick if the perspective bothers you it can saved with PaintShopPro

PSP8.1
geometric effects- perspective-vertical
perspective correction tool
distortion effects- lens distortion- pincushion
straighten & crop & framed
added the knob back in which i was unable to save in the correction

Oooooh! I really like what u did here Cyn! Very neat postwork!!

cynlee ( ) posted Wed, 03 August 2005 at 3:58 PM · edited Wed, 03 August 2005 at 4:01 PM

thanks pascale... it was a quickie... notice the squares are not the same in size.. with a bit more fiddling that can be evened up too
i guess it depends if you consider that cheating or digitally editing & playing with a shot worthy of saving or keep it like it is or go back & reshoot :]

Wow Cyn you are so good with that PSP. I got to get to grips with it. You have done wonders with it , thanks so much. It is such a great door It needed justice doing to it.

as bsteph pointed out... leaving it as is does works! i do luv the rich details, creme color & shadows... having it open in makes it look inviting too... & with a white frame to show it off, i think it looks great! thanks for the play... it made me appreciate it all the more!

@Cyn! I don't consider this cheating at all! These tools were created to do this kinda STUFF! We use what's available to get the final results! (whatever that may be) If this was NOT the case, we'd still be using our sabre-tooth MOUSE to paint in caves! (LOL)! Btw...The door has some awesome details! Really amazing the craftsmanship!

A beautiful door! From when a door was just more than a piece of wood separating 2 spaces.
