Hi guys! I used this forum, becuase of it's traffic I finally manage to get Maya 3.0 Unlimited, well my boss bought it, and after reading the manuals over & over, I can't make the damn thing render. If you're reading this, needless to say that english it's not my mother-language, and I hope it isn't the problem. I completed the clothing tutorials, some animations, and even imported poser dorks to it with textures. but the fact is that when I press render, the image it's totally black, maybe I'm dumb or something, i can only see the alpha channel. Like I'd said, maybe I'm missing something or I'm not setting the render nodes correctly. if you know in what page or manual it's the solution, or if it's there any Turorial, please let me know TIA

Try the Maya forum here: http://www.postforum.com/forums/list.php?f=23 Its a shot in the dark (pi), but try setting your monitor to millions, I've had alpha's bmps look black at 1000s before. You also might just call tech support, since you just paid like $7k, I'd think they'd help out;-). Good luck!

In maya unlike 3d Max you have to add a light to the scene or all you will get is a black screen.

I deal w/ this all the time working as a computer lab tech at an art school. I don't know a whole lot of Maya, but know enough to go through the program. Anyway, you need to check that whatever camera you use is checked as renderable. Go to its attribute and check "renderable." Also, make sure no other camera is set to be renderable. I've tried Maya 3.0 and Lightwave 6.5, but I still like Poser 4. Gotta save up to get Poser Pack Pro.

Man, your boss bought Maya? You luckey SOB, I have trouble getting mine to buy me a new mouse, even though he's making a fortune off of me and paying me peanuts. I ordered the demo of Maya from Alias Wavefront ages ago but still haven't received it, guess I just gotta be patient. Well thats my rant for the day.

Hey Guys Thank you all I finaly get maya to work fine! and Bug... Me and my "Boss" are kind of partners and thanks to the comment of Digit8r. I realize, he wanted to fool me, since we (me and the other designers) have to pay equal parts of the price. Im gonna nail this guy!
