Subject: Scene Programs

Circumvent ( ) posted Mon, 08 August 2005 at 8:34 PM · edited Sun, 16 February 2025 at 5:01 PM

I have a question regarding programs that makes scenes. Im interested in getting a program that can make any scene that you want that is compatable with Poser. That way I can make anything I want instead of searching for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA. Adrian

Vue/Bryce/Mojoworld/Terregen are all options. I would suggest you download the demo's of all, give them a spin & see what you like. Right now Terregen can't import PZ3's from Poser. Bryce imports from Daz Studio, that said you can still import Poser items, just not via the PZ3. Mojoworld 3 can import Poser stuffs & so can Vue. Hope this helps.

Check out the DNA Microcosm utility over at runtimedna.com. It's inexpensive, easy to use, and great for creating backdrops and exterior scenes. Strictly for outdoor scenes though. Wings3D is a great free modeling app. that is compatible with Poser via the .obj format. If you have the means to create simple textures you'll be able to make some pretty neat interior settings out of just a few cubes in Wings. (wings3d.com)

Shade can also import Poser PZ3's, even the Light edition ($70) can do it straight out of the box. Imports animations and dynamic cloth, but not dynamic hair. It seems to be a good modeler and renderer, and at $70 it's definitely not overpriced. Creating objects for Poser should work fine, it exports .obj files. It doesn't have landscaping tools like Vue, Bryce, Terragen and Mojoworld though.

Don't Buy Shade right now. New version in near future. It will import Dynamic Hair. Shade 8, otherwise a good modeler. Vue may be your best option for scenes. Imports Poser better than many other apps. Much better than Bryce, which I also have, don't need to Import into DS/BS first. Modeling, Wings 3D. Easy to use and free. As already stated, check all demos first. What might work for one person might not feel right for you.

If you want to make entire planets to hide your Poser figures on - I suggest Mojoworld. Great bang for your buck and now imports native Poser pz3 format - also Dynamic Hair and Cloth!

Thanks for all that responded. I do have Shade 7 that came with Poser 6 when it first came out. I also have MoJo world so I'll try both of those first. Thanks again. Adrian
