Can any one confirm this problem for me. I save xfrog plants as lwo objects and when I import into Vue I am getting the error shown in attached image. I can not export any of my many exfrog vob's of which I could in previous versions. What the heck does it mean it has corrupted the programs internal state. When I clicked Ok it closed Vue Infinitie.

Which kind of xfrog .vob ? I tried exporting one of mine from Vue and I get the 'sorry - can't export' message. I am using 277255 and I did not apply any of the recent updates.

Ok.. I tried with an xfrog plant that I edited myself, saved it as vob from xfrog, loaded in Vue and exported as lwo. I can open it again in Vue as an lwo file, but I lost the transparency maps in the process. You can send me your lwo file at agiel@renderosity.com if you want me to try it out from here.

Agiel it wasn't exporting this time. Yes I can not export at all any of my saved xfrog vob's and now can not import a lwo file that was saved in xfrog lite to use in Vue. I can't get the lwo file imported into vue so sure as heck can't export as a vob when I can not get my plants into Vue now. Tryed it with Vue 4.2 and imported the plant with out any problem at all. Just wondering if that error means myVue install is corrupt with doing so many updates and roll backs. Its all so frustrating.

Sending you the file. I have reported to tech support and posted at e-ons Vue forum as well. Weird that you can export and so many of us can not. btw. my vob's of xfrog plants were saved in Vue Pro if that matters about the exports. If it does then I would need 6 months every nite to redo my vob's. :o(

Agiel, are you using Vue 5 Infinite?

agiel here is what I did and was able to import the plant into vue.

I opened the xfr file in xfrog and then saved as a lwo file and was able to import into Vue Infinite.
I then saved it as a vob and reloded into vue as a vob and now able to export out of Vue.

Now tell me what is goiong on that saved vob's from Vue Pro will no longer work in Vue Infinite and they did before all this stuff dealing with the store and the updates that had to be part of it.
It would take me many many hours to get back my vobs I have saved over the last couple years that were saved in Vue Pro and now can no longer use in Infinite as we could just a few days ago before all the updates. :) Whooops, got ahead of myself. When I exported as a 3ds it showed as being exported but locked up my Vue program. Had to use tak manger to get out of it when it said program not responding. Thought I had a good thing going but back to more export problems. :o(

Alrighty now.....going to be repetitive yet again. Lets go back to Vue4, where you could NOT export. This is the version I used the most. Bought V4Pro(never used it), bought Vue5 only did a couple pics due to the memory issues. V5I comes out. Now, everything I've bought or downloaded for free off 3d cafe/creepy clown etc & re-textured are now forbidden from export. Back in Vue4 only a couple examples out of 18gigs worth of stuff: Ornlus grass/Dystopia(lwo & 3ds format)/my Trillium CD(plants)/plants from 3dplants.com the list is endless. Now my latest communication with E-ON states I have to re-download/re-install all my files in the original format I bought & downloaded them in. Now thats 18gigs worth of stuff, with about I re-textured and saved as .vobs is lost. I can provide a quote if anyone would like :) How am I supposed to re-coup my time??? Is someone going to pay me for my lost time in having to go thru this? This will take me weeks >:( I still hold out hope, as slim as that might be. Anyway1 week, thats it. Ive already started to re-download, re-install off hundreds of backups, so my work has come to a grinding halt. I hope this corrected with the up & coming patches :) Patience is NOT one of my virtues ;P

This was a known issue when this update first went out, later updates had fixed it, but now we're back where Xfrog files saved as .lwo give this error message. A workaround I had found then was to export in the obj format. The downside is you need alpha planes to get your leaves transparency back, since you lose this information in obj as well as 3ds.

Agiel, I take it by your lack or reply that you do not use Vue 5 Infinite.

agiel ( ) posted Wed, 10 August 2005 at 4:26 PM

Sorry... I missed your message. I do have Vue Infinite, with the latest build prior to the faulty updates. I have been in contact with iloco directly to help him troubleshoot his files. So far, everything is working fine with the version I have.

Thanks agiel for the help. Only thing I can guess is I got a corrupt version of Vue installed with all the upgrades and rollbacks that might have some files that didn't get over written as they should. I am going to uninstall Vue Infinitie and reinstall Vue Pro and wait and see what takes place with all the problems that e-on is having with the encryption stuff. Vue has gone from being fun and my favotire program to nothing but a hazzle and loosing my faith in the program. Its not as advertised and is only getting worst. :o(

Sorry to hear about the troubles iloco. Agiel, thanks for responding. I gave up on vue 5 infinite but I will start up again when they pick up the ball next week.
