What is the best 3d modeler to use that works well with bryce? any suggestions?

The best of the best is Rhinoceros ( my personal favorite)but if You are low on budget You can get one of the free ones (search for it on for example www.3DLinks.com). Merlin VR is not that bad (it is a renderer too!)...

Carrara works pretty well too. Most bang for the buck, and it does'nt seem to be an orphan app any longer.

I personally like TrueSpace. It will do NURB Objects like Rhino .. as well as a few other things. So .. as you see.. it's really a matter of how you work that makes the app the "best". Most of these have Demos you can get.. so my only advice is to visit a few websites.. see which ones are within your budget.. gab the demo.. see if you like how it drives.. and take the plunge :)

Personally, I recommend Rhino, mainly due to ease of use and modeling power. It doesn't have the best renderer in the world, tho... -Paul

I use Lightwave 6.5 for modeling but if budget is concern you can make some very nice organic shapes for bryce with "amorphium" from Play INC. ( $ 50 U.S.)
