Subject: Harry Potter & House Elves

I have been looking around for a model of a house-elf from Harry Potter. There was one in Harry Potter II, Chamber of Secrets named Dobby, (rather annoying but interesting) and he was modeled in Maya but the figure is not available for sale or free or anything. Now in Harry Potter IV (Goblet of Fire) there will be 2 new House-Elves plus around 500 extras as well. I was wondering if any of the modelers out there had interest in creating a House-Elf with morphs etc. I am going to attempt it myself using Blacksmith3D but as I am not a modeler, its only gonna be a feeble attempt. But one of you wizards out there with Lightwave or C4D or something might be interested in making one and maybe putting it on the market. Any help I can give is readily available too. I have tons of references etc for them. Maybe one of you might have fun making one. Greetings, Antonio

You might have better luck with Wings3d.

I thought we get in trouble for posting copyrighted images in here. Personally, I don't care. But if I and several others have gotten in trouble for it, then everyone should.

Amazing! You're sure you're not a modeller? Or are you just talking about making Poser-ready models? P.S. If you ever do "Nobby" I want him! ;-)

the pictures shown are from a Maya tutorial by Julian J and they are copyrighted (says so at the end of the tutorial). http://www.3dm3.com/tutorials/maya/dobby/ Here is the link to the tutorial for maya from start to finish including how to texture and do realistic skin in Maya. There aren't any house elf or dobby poser models. some sort of's, but nothing exactly like the movie.

I spoke to Julian J and wrote him about buying the figure, and he told me it wasnt for sale just for the tutorial... I got his ok to use the images so people could see how it was done. I am not taking credit for his modelling, I want to see if some people would be interested in doing the same...

My intent is to find people interested in modeling cool stuff for Wizarding, so that before the release of the film we could do some cool promo artwork and challenges. I don't want to get into a copyright argument here. Sorry... Greetings from Germany Antonio
