I'm having a little problem with my winzip software, When i go to download things from poser world and they download automatically, to tempo file i guess, and when the winzip opens for me to extract it it is empty. I don't know what's going on, but i thought someone would have a good idea how i might fix this.

thanks!

I haven't seen this before. Are you using any download manager? Poserworld usually only recommend to use GetRight as a manager/accelerator. I usually download from there with my browser and don't have a problem. But there may be an issue with that particular zip - have you tried posting a message on the PW forum about it? Or you could IM Steve here, his username is steveshanks.

I've seen this before, this always happens to me when I do not save the PW zip file to my harddisk first. When I do download without saving the file and try to open it then it's empty. When you click on a PW file, never use open, but always use save (the second button, not sure what that states in english) and open once saved.

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

  1. Open any folder in Windows Explorer 2. From the menu select Too;s->Folder Options 3. Click file types then scroll to and find and select .zip 4. Click on advanced 5. Check Confirm Open After Download Hopefully that should do it.

If it went through the downloading process, it's probably in your cache under temporary internet files. When they get saved to the cache they usually have a number appended to the filename as file.zip becomes file[1].zip. It may be that your archive application is trying to open the original filename and not finding it perhaps. At any rate, I never use open for downloading any type of file--it's asking for trouble as a possible security risk.
