I'm not really sure but I think that thumbs displaying a known subject (boobs are good) gets more hits. People have different favorite subjects but you can entice someone to view a pic if even it isn't their fave just by centering the subject. They'll want to get a closer look to see how you placed or handled it. I like color, contrast and movement. I don't like tiny thumbs, little red X's or non-existent thumbs (of course I still look :D)

Genitalia! Nope! I don't want to see it! Use male/female genitalia and I won't click. It's not that I'm a prude, I'm not. It's just I think it's a cheap way to get a viewer's interest. I want to see good detailing and a high rez thumbnail. Fractals and shiny spheres don't get my attention. The two above here are precisely what I'm on about.

Its amazing how different people see in their image the thumbs. I did a graphics course at college once along time ago, and we had to make a A3 sized mood board. With this board we had to cover it with torn/cut pictures each overlapping and when finished it looked like a mosaic without the edges!, then cover different areas with two 'L' shaped cards and see within that area when these L pieces where layed over and joined together making different sized squares/oblongs. It was fascinating seeing different images from within. I see these thumbs are basically the same thing as these 'L' pieces but with one complete image underneath and also depends how good the image is to start off with. Thanks for all your input. I'm still learning a lot!

Hi Folks. Going back to a topic from Burpee, there rose a conversation about thumbnails and their presetation could sway the viewer to open the link or not. Well, thinking more on that conversation and going through my favourite artists and images, I would love to know which thumbnail you would rate Best in the following catagories. Mark out of 10 which would sway your choice to open the thumbnail to view the complete artwork.....You can supply a link or 'thumbnail' for your best ones........Have fun! 1) Amount of full picture within it, (Full picture reduced to thumbnail size). 2) Light or dark image. 3) Lots of colour or bland greyish/black & white. (Which catches your eye) 4) Small or large thumbnail (I have seen quite a few uneven sizes) 5) Known artist or newcomer. (Opened anyway whatever the thumbnail) 6)(In the case of Poser) Nude parts or complete nudes! ;) 7) Amount of details within. 8) POV (Point of view) 9) Title
