oof.. that's pretty bad.. aside from the damage there's a lot of JPG artifacts as well.

here are some previous restoration links that show what was done on a few other photos with Photoshop &/or Paintshop Pro Is this taking on too much? here Any ideas or suggestions? here I need a very big favour.................. here & a site that has a lot of good tips: retouchpro.com takes a lot of time & patience but it can be done ;]
Firstly I used PSP9 (free download trial available if you don't have it already).
Adjust/Add-Remove Noise/JPEG artefact removal - used at preset Max.
Adjust/Photo Fix/Digital Camera Noise Removal - used at preset.
Adjust/Colour Balance/Fade Correction - used at level 70.
Clone brush to repair 2nd face.
Select around the people freehand and feather 10pix
Adjust/Colour Balance/Fade Correction - used at preset small.
Deselect.
Adjust/One Step Photo Fix - used at preset.
Tidied up using soften brush.
I am sure you will achieve better results if you take more time and select the settings carefully rather than just use the presets.
Hope this helps
Richard.

And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies
live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to
sea in a Sieve.

Hi Guys. My cousin, has emailed me an old b/w photo, which is in a pretty rough condition, and asked if I could enhance it any. I'm a Brycer and my knowledge is strictly limited. It's well beyond my capabilies. If anyone enjoys this type of challenge, I can post it here! I apologise if this is considered bad form asking but I Know how clever some of you guys are, and if you don't ask, you never know....!LOL Thanks - John.
