"Are you a mad scientist? Have you planned to engineer the most feared mutant army in all creation? Have you suffered near fatal injuries that have left you forever connected to life support mechanisms inhibiting your mobility? Then we have the item for you! Introducing the Mark 1 Travel Machine! Yes, the Mark 1 Travel Machine allows you to regain that sense of freedom. No longer will you be imprisoned in a medical ward attached to cumbersome heart/lung devices, artificial respirators and dialysis machines. The Mark 1 Travel Machine houses all those componenets and more in a compact shell riding upon a handwavium repelling field. And, with the optional neural-sensor cranial array, you can control the Mark 1's movement through easily learned bio-feedback techniques. So, if you still have the use of one hand, pick up the phone and order yours today!" Noticing that the regulars from VanishingPoint.biz teamed together to create Cassandra O'Brian from the new Doctor Who series, I thought the time was right to release a contribution of my own, Davros' life support chair as it first appeared in "Genesis of the Daleks". The zip file contains three props, the chair, a cranial array and a cyber eye. All three componenets are scaled for use with standard sized Poser based adult figures. You will need to "parent" the cranial array and the cyber eye to the figure's head. The chair should be "parented" to the figure's hip. No reflection maps are included, but if you are so inclined, you can select your favorite maps and apply them to the desired materials. It may also be a good idea to turn off the visibility of the figure's leg parts and feet so they won't poke through the chair's geometry. This also helps quicken render times. I make but a single request. Show me some of your examples when you use these props. It's nice to see the download counts, but it's more fun to see the rendered results. Have fun! Sincerely, Bill Follow the link to VanishingPoint.biz in order to download the item.

Thanks for the freebie, Bill. You're a Diamond Geezer. I be more of a "Yarveling and Zolfian" follower of the Dalek continuity, though. I never really did dig Davros (how's that for alliteration?). Still, that's a nicely modelled addition to the armoury; I'm sure I'll persuade Mike (or Steph) to climb in for a spin. Cheers, matey!

I guess it was a shock to viewers from the 60s to suddenly have Terry Nation in 1975 totally overwrite continuity. For better or for worse, when I first saw "Doctor Who", my local PBS station started with Tom Baker on a weekday basis. So by the third Monday, episode 1 of "Genesis..." aired. In the first Dalek serials, were their ancestors originally called Dals instead of Kaleds, and weren't they supposed to be a blue skinned humanoid species? Or was that only in the Century 21 Dalek comics? Sincerely, Bill

"In the first Dalek serials, were their ancestors originally called Dals instead of Kaleds, and weren't they supposed to be a blue skinned humanoid species? Or was that only in the Century 21 Dalek comics" far as I know, thats the comics only. a few years before his death Nation did publish an account that ties Genesis to the first Dalek story.. both are infact correct and happened at the same time. (the Genesis Daleks being buried with the Mutants above (from the war / Distronic attack) finding the abandoned (by Davros and Synder) test Dalek prototypes.) no mention of the Dals or them being blue skinned...

Very cool chair! Does the chair come with an device to stop the Doctor's contant meddling so I can build my race of super-robots without his interference? :-) There are two other ways to get to your item. The above link takes visitors to the Free Stuff page, but starts them at your chair. Visitors can also select "Doctor Who" from the Quick-Select pull down list. --John

The Daleks were the housing for the mutated Kaleds, inhabitants of the planet Skaro. The Kaleds warred with Skaro's other inhabitants, the Thals, for hundreds of years, making most of the planet uninhabitable. Davros reasoned that the Kaleds were mutating and so speeded up the process. He altered their brains to remove emotion, compassion and morality, turning the Kaleds into perfect fighting machines. thanks for the Links there Slinger.. those are the 2 theories that Nation (Dalek Creator) wrote and later formed into the 1 theory of Dalek creation ;)
