After I finished my latest picture I noticed something very strange on my eco system trees ! Holes ! Somehow the trees are not one part but somehow cut into pieces. What is going on here ?

Termites??!! No seriously, I've actually never seen that happen before. These are the standard Vue trees??? What settings do you have for the ecosystem???

Weird. Even weirder is that the holes seem to be all at the same altitude. Try editing the material of the trunk and change the material to Procedural or just plain black. You may have to repopulate the ecosystem to refresh the materials. This will tell you if it is a problem with the material of the trees or with the geometry of the trees.

This was a big problem with one of the updates and was fixed in a later update to get rid of this problem. I think since we rolled back it is back and needs to be fixed once again by e-ons developers. Might ask tech support and if you do a search you should find the problem in faq's on e-ons site.

What build of Infinite are you using, Holli?

Did you change the sampling quality, which is 93% by default?

iloco, you telling me I should not do an update ? I never did so far.

What build do you have. This was a known problem before Vue Infinitie and Vue 5 were released. Why it is back I have no idea. You should send a ticket to tech support on this problem.

I get this problem all the time and I never could figure why. I never had it that severe. Random defects in solid growth trees happens often. My work around is to re-populate with slight parameter changes. I have one picture I made and it has that problem and I could never get the framing right after the re-population so I just gave up. Since then I changed my workflow so I can spot these problems before I get too deep in a picture. I pray for the day that they fix this problem at e-on because it would really open up my workflow.
