Subject: Looking for a free dock

Neyjour ( ) posted Thu, 25 August 2005 at 8:21 AM · edited Wed, 01 January 2025 at 11:31 AM

I've searched the RFS, 3DC and RDNA and no luck. Any help would be much appreciated. :) TIA! Ney

SAMS3D had a nice one, (but Sharon cycles their stuff and it may not be up now.)

I'm not 100% sure what style of dock you need but if you go to this page and look at the 2nd box down on the right, in its bottom left corner is a dock, or a pier, however you call it, that they had for free not too long ago...I would message sams3d and ask if perhaps she could make it available again...they are such wonderful and generous people!

geoegress: what boat did you use in that image? It looks fantastic, a perfect base for something I'm planning to do.

Definitely a cool dock (downloading now), and a cool image, but I'm freaking out over the dates here. This thread is on 8/25, but the image posted in the gallery is dated 8/07. Did someone make a time machine prop that really works?

svdl- I don't remember off the top of my head- I'll look it up and post the link for you tomorrow night :) the good news is it was a freebee- remind me I have to go now. danamongden; it's even stranger- hehehe- I made it last year :P

oh geoegress, what an awesome image and mood and such a wonderfully simple and uncluttered piece...very very pleasing to the eye...outstanding work! I admire your talent... Sharen...you are more than welcome, but all the thanks go to you...I admire your talents as well, not to mention your generosity and helpful ways... :D Karen

Below are a few samples from a freebie by Mapps. I think I found it on his own site, which is down for the moment. Since the ship (the African Queen) in the render is a 3ds model the dock used could also be any other format (3ds, lwo, obj, etc). jl

geoegress ( ) posted Fri, 26 August 2005 at 10:02 AM

hi- back :) yup- it is the African Queen from www.planit3d.com made by Helmut Schaub (Helmut). It is in 3ds format and it comes with textures. But you have to apply them manually. hope this helps :) and all hail to Sharen, lol- she's one of the Poserverses true treasures :)

The set is "Wharves & Walks" it can be download here in the free section too. My site is back up, I went way over my bandwith last month with all the free cloths, hit 75 gig used. Highest it has ever gone, I only purchase 55 gig.
