Sounds like what Pakled was getting. I think I did see somewhere that blender requires python 2.3, not 2.4, but I can't seem to find that again.Attached Link: http://www.blender3d.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=18&sid=ecfe54e716e3707e960940aec88a89b8
yes blender need 2.3 there are test builds that work with 2.4 (see link) i think that script is for such version. you can email the script writer and askfor
some free stuff i made
and
for almost daily fotos
yeah I guess I answered my own question. I uninstalled python 2.4 and got 2.3 installed. It works fine now. I definitely appriceated the the links tho. helpful stuff. It's gonna take some getting used to a program that lets you get under the hood as much as this one, but demands you know what you're doing when you're under there. thanks for the help. Chewy

Ive recently downloaded and started getting the hang of the blender interface an i think im going to like this program. However something has happened to the basic script functionality of the program. I had installed python 2.4.1 and tried out a new Lsystem script i had downloaded. it worked fine a few times but now every time i load blender the other window that comes up with it gives the following error message
Using Python version 2.3
'import site' failed; use -v for traceback
I have no idea what this means or what is going on. I have completley re installed blender and python to no avail.
Do i need to use the 2.3 version of python? The lsystem script i downloaded says i need to use 2.4 but blender seems to want 2.3 is this the conflict? if so why did it work before and not now. I have also done the set Python path maneuver the websites say to do for windows XP machines right cliking on the my computer icon and set the environmental variables and so forth. still I cant figure out what I'm doing wrong and thought I'd seek assistance here.
Thanks
