Subject: Make a big city

Hello, I have seen different cities and I don't know how to make it , so this is my question, whereupon program you construct the cities, with 3D Max or poser using the basic forms?

Some people will use a 3d program for making a city and some will use the poser props but a 3d program will let you do more and make more complex shapes (you don`t have to use 3ds max).

Perhaps you can save yourself some time and check out some of the cities that are ready to use? Follow the link and it will bring you to a free city. It's pretty big and easy to use. This isn't the only one, there are more free and not free cities around though. As for creating your own, xantor is correct. If I need a simple one (and the ready ones aren't suitable), I just use cubes in Poser. If I need a more detailed or complicated one, I design it TrueSpace and import it into Poser.

Artwork and 3DToons items, create the perfect place for you toon and other figures!

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

Baument has quite a few free building objects that you could import to poser and make your own city, they are in 3ds format.

Francr.. I model my citys(sold at daz) in 3dsmax..& Dystopia is modeled(by Moebius87)in Lightwave.
I'd hate to attempt modelling something like that in Poser, but if you break it all down they are nothing more than tweaked primitive shapes,so it could be possible,or get wings 3d or Blender..(free 3d modelling apps)..
chances are a certain dr Geep could build a city in Poser

Ajax..have you been doing much 3d work lately?..I sure could use a drink..hint,hint :)

martial..thanks for the plug Cheers Stefan

I could use a drink too, Stef, I really could. I spent about four weeks sick recently - never had anything that bad before in my life. Anyhow, I didn't do much but lay on the couch groaning the whole time (I think the groaning was actually caused by daytime TV) so it hasn't been a very productive period. I'm better now but I'm about to move house (selling my little flat and buying a place big enough that my girl can move in) so that's going to take up a lot of my free time as well. 3D work is ongoing, but it's been at a crawl recently. I might send you some WIP images this weekend if I get a chance.
