And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few,ย Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to sea in a Sieve.

I guess they didn't get please choose 1*** Your job must be so hard. I admire your tenacity. I would like to suggest a new challege... 1st or 2nd curtain flash. I will make the assuption this choice will leave some people out of participating, but I want to work on this, so I'll suggest it at least to see if it will fly. If not I vote for 2. Monochromatic. Thanks for all your hard work:}

tibet2004uk ( ) posted Mon, 29 August 2005 at 9:57 PM

CD cover!!! Yes!! That sounds like so much fun!!!

DJB ( ) posted Mon, 29 August 2005 at 10:12 PM

hehe... Yes Jim, it does get hard sometimes. Subject line...Please Choose 1. Just a reminder to all...it makes it real simple if only one is chosen. Then we can tally up easier. Any new ideas will be added to next time round. My Choice. 1. Working (wo)man/industrial

Life is just a picture of our dreams

8. CD Cover...choose one people...from the list! ;] LOL BTW, in case you didn't know, ABC was a real group back in the 80s, very dancey New Wave. I think I even had a cassette or two of theirs. =]

hauksdottir ( ) posted Tue, 30 August 2005 at 9:54 AM

I like the CD cover idea, but wish for different initials. Anything which says something when sounded (like NVS) or stands for something (like learning one's ABCs) is probably used. It would be more interesting with something completely random.

cynlee ( ) posted Tue, 30 August 2005 at 10:44 AM

LOL... when i mentioned the CD cover last month those initials were also a real group... so i changed it this month... if the cover gets picked we need to decide on the letters used! :]

TwoPynts ( ) posted Tue, 30 August 2005 at 10:46 AM

How about make it 3 letters, artist's choice? It would still be the most structured of the categories.

I vote for Exploring Textures.

cynlee ( ) posted Tue, 30 August 2005 at 1:43 PM

sounds fine to me Kort! (if it gets chosen :)

Margana ( ) posted Tue, 30 August 2005 at 4:34 PM

Oooh I've wanted to do the CD cover all along! Why did you have to throw in,'Pick a style'?!It could be so much fun to try to recreate the style of someone here at RR.I have a few of my favorite 'famous' photogs that it would also be great to imitate.Sorry I have to go with that one!But don't worry folks, whatever I choose never gets selected!LOL!

"that one"...which one? :]

Margana ( ) posted Tue, 30 August 2005 at 5:10 PM

Ooops!Sorry Cindy!I thought it was clear.I'm choosing 'Pick a style'.Sounds like a difficult but fun challenge. My painting technique really developed alot when I copied the work of some of the masters,so I imagine copying Man ray,Weston,Ansel Adams, etc. could be an incredible learning experience as well.I'd love to do a Cindy Sherman.Do you like her work? -M :)

ok, just making sure, ty.. & yes, luv the retro look :]

TomDart ( ) posted Tue, 30 August 2005 at 9:32 PM

I vote for: 1. textures 2. working man or woman..in that order. I feel textures leave a wide, wide door of everyone. Whether a stairway "lit just right" or the coat of a coyote..textures has a lot to offer. that 'tis it. Thanks. TomDart.

tibet2004uk ( ) posted Tue, 30 August 2005 at 10:35 PM

I just noticed that 7 is written in French! O_o

cynlee ( ) posted Tue, 30 August 2005 at 10:59 PM

7? looks like English to me... :/ an example of 7 would be taking a picture of a snake that just happened to be shaped like the letter S or a railroad track crossing that makes a X

tibet2004uk ( ) posted Tue, 30 August 2005 at 11:12 PM

  1. CD Cover I didn't think you wanted us to choose more then one, but have noticed the people that said choose only one have made two choices? So confusing! I still need to submit my entries for August.... both of em! Hopefully I will get the second one done! :-S Brenda

cynlee ( ) posted Wed, 31 August 2005 at 3:17 PM

i don't know what is confusing... i only asked for 1 choice from the ones presented & new challenge ideas will be accepted thanks nilla :]

LostPatrol ( ) posted Wed, 31 August 2005 at 7:26 PM

Am I too late? Textures for me (thats one choice lol) Oh my "Self-Portraiture" hope that one gets dumped soon just incase it gets chosen and I scare all the nice people here LOL And a suggestion: Stained glass. Oh btw ABC were a real band in the UK back in the 80s and I have vinyl records (remember them) to prove it.

The Truth is Out There

ok!

guess you guessed it... the new challenge will be...

Fictional Album/CD Cover

The fictitious band "SGM" needs a photograph for their first album cover and three words to go along with their acronym. First, come up with a 3 word name for the band to explain what "SGM" stands for, and second, photograph something appropriate for their debut album cover in square format (for example: "Super Geek Machine" or whatever :)

Doug will make it official & show an example in a new thread
