Subject: Help with Poser links

I'm getting a new computer very soon. On my current computer, I have numerous Poser-related sites bookmarked in my browsers (Internet Explorer and Netscape). Does anyone know if there's a way I can save those to a disk or somehow transfer them to the new computer? I'd hate to lose them, and I really don't have time to sit down and write down the URLs for each of them, and then re-bookmark them into the new computer. I use the sites frequently and it would be disappointing if I can't take them with me to my new computer. Any advice or information would be much appreciated. Melanie

Internet explorer keeps all its bookmarks in the folder c:windowsFavorites. Netscape keeps its bookmarks in c:Program FilesNetscapeusersYourNamebookmark.htm . Just copy to a floppy for moving to the new computer.

Melanie - And as for the Poser goodies, I recently went through the "new computer - but what about all the files?????!!" trauma. Just to say, it`s well worth getting a network link between the two machines set up, and transferring all your loverly Poser stuff to the new one. The cards were really cheap, and it was easy to set up. Just an idea...

Thanks, polartech, that's good to know. I'll look into that. I'm grateful for all the help. Melanie

With internet explorer (5 and up), go to "File" > "Import and Export" and you'll go thru a wizard to export the favorites into a bookmark.htm file. Then, later, you can reverse the process and import it back. You could also import the netscape bookmarks into internet explorer.
