Subject: Vue Easel...

Anyone know anything about Vue Easel? Ive been really thinking about bailing from Camp Bryce. Especially with Vue's ability to import Poser scenes as standard. Anyone know if Easel will handle dynamic hair and clothes? Thanx in advance.

e-on only announced some kind of 'teaser' about Easel. There is no detail about it yet...

It might be nice if they could get their main product working properly before introducing 2 new ones.

Oh; thanks. Hadn't heard about that one.

I second that mdt. I've been waiting over a month for vue infinite to be fixed because the rollback doesn't work and I don feel like re-installing. Plus the 2 objects I bought don't work. This waiting feels incredibly long and I wonder if I should have just re-installed vue but probably then the update will come out.

I think what has happened is this. E-on was hyping VUE5I as the next big thing for major motion picture, enviromental FX work, ( and with ecosystem, it certainly could be) kind of the way the various crowd generators were so hot after Lord of the Rings. So,they rush it out, hoping to catch buzz at E3 and CES and Siggraph, etc. But, it's broke. So, they try to fix it, but they have a small staff ( I'll bet you 10 or less full time staff and 2-5 freelance programmers). Now, I wouldn't have so much of a problem with the thibg being a flakey as a dandruff festival, but a.) I am working, professional illustrator with real deadlines and budgets and b.) the thing cost $600.00 and doesn't come with a fifth of the content that Bryce ships with at half the price!

Yup, fix the product we have before asking us to spend money on something else that won't work. 8^) Marque

Personally, I'm just waiting for e-on to collapse from it's own ambitions, I mean, I'm a pretty patient guy most of the time but for them to try and launch YET ANOTHER version of their software (they now have 4 different variations of Vue 5) when none of the current versions work the way they're supposed to is just ridiculous in my honest opinion. I really don't understand how they can justify launching yet another version when so many people are hanging on waiting for the more expensive one to even work straight. Add to that the Fusion software they're trying to launch and the cornucopia fiasco and it just seems to me they're biting off way more than they can chew, let alone swallow. Just my 2 cents.

nanotyrannus, I totally agree. I'm sitting here with some money, working out which software upgrades I should make...made 1 choice....Modo, a no brainer really. Because of Modo I was hesitant to upgrade to C4D XL 9.5 and was strongly going the way of upgrading Vue4 to 5i. This news has set that back. How many products has E-on got now? Christ, what are they thinking? Ok, maybe a lot of the software is based on the same coding, but we all know how flakey that coding can be. They can't cope with what they have released now, let alone adding another few apps to the family (consider Fusion being multiple apps, because each one has to bridge with a different 3D product). This is sad news. I have always thought E-on had their heart in the right place, but this news leaves me with an uneasy feeling in the stomach. Cheers

Well, I have upgraded to Poser6 and Vue5 Esprit about half a year ago. Now I'm stuck. Wanted to upgrade to Vue5I because of the eccosystem, but what next. Maybe Cinema 4D is the better choice. Later on I could get the eccosystem with Vue Fusion. Seems to me the best choice at the moment. Reminds me somehow of the situation after the shipping of Poser5.
