Hi there, I've been off the track for some time now, anyone knows what has become of the "Ellis" doll-like model project? :)

Not I. I've never even heard of it. Sorry I can't help =(

Last I heard Elis is unlikely to ever be made public.

Momodot, here's just one of many renders of her. There used to be a lot of images up at Muu's site - don't know if they're still up. She had sets of clothing modelled for her as well and even went into beta (but only with Japanese-speaking testers) but then I don't know what happened and she wasn't released. If any figure modeller sees this, please cosider making a jointed doll like this - there are many of us who'd buy her :)

Thanks. that is a cool figure. I got into Poser in part out of my involvement with real world articulated dolls. The most amazing dolls came from Japan where there is a long standing tradition of doll making that is I think maybe involved in the Poser work found in Japan. This Poser figure looks so much like some of the real world dollmaking. I wich tere were some doll like figures for posers... I have been using an old copy of ShazamLE, I wonder if I should try putting ball joint props on it.

Actually if you look through pipinoco's gallery she uses ShazamLE a lot with Motsura's Anime Vicky for the LowRes Vicki and a lot of her dolls come very close to looking like Elis. Here's a link for Motsura's site with LoResVicky.

Great! I like the Kote head there too but I could not find the gallery there... I'll look here and elsewheere later. There was a Japanese site with links to all sorts of Japanese V2/V2RR sites but I lost it with my old harddrive... you wouldn't happen to know the URL?

Oh, I've been madly collecting all of Motsura's stuff ever since her first Idol doll at Props Guild :) As for links, I find Akatora's database to be the best, may not be exactly what you were looking for but I'm sure you'll find anything here! Just run it through the translator http://www.excite.co.jp/world/english/web/ Hope this helps :)

Oops, and I forgot to say that at Akatora's site once you click "Poser sites of the world" on your left you'll see two links, left2.html and left3.html (names shown at the bottom of your browser). The second link is the one that will make searching much easier for you since it separates the sites according to what you're looking for whereas the first link is just an alphabetical listing of everything.

Thank you. That is exactly the page I had lost track of back when I had dial up and could not really download or even just easily look at stuff. Now I can look around again and see what neat stuff there is.
