I'm just glad I have broadband. Remember, it can save a lot of hassle if you give yourself a gift certificate to pay for these small purchases.

That is if you're able to use any of the items they're offering for sale. Last year I purchased a voucher especially for the sale and ended up with only 2 items and a voucher amount left. Couln't use half of the items because they were for figures I do not own (like the troll stuff) and the other half I couldn't use because I wouldn't know what project I would use them for (like half naked angels). This year I'm not going to get a voucher anymore, I'll wait and see if there's an item I can even use. Well it started great already, don't ever use Aiko or Hiro at all. Hopefully DAZ will put something decent and useable on sale too and are not only acting as crowd pleasers.

You didn't get Ollok? ::rolls eyes:: Even folks without the troll bought that since it came with all kinds of goodies: temple, props, lights, poses for Vicky, etc. Definitely worth the few pennies I paid. As for today's offering, if you've got Wardrobe Wizard it'll fit just about any figure, not just as Hiro & Aiko.

Exactly. I plan on analyzing it and uploading the .dat file for download. All people need is that .dat file and then they can use the clothing on any figure WW supports, which is a whole LOT!

Hi Acadia, actually I've only spent about $12 of it so far. I'm saving the rest for DAZ Studio plugins when 1.0 comes out...assuming it comes out before my credits expire, which is still a big maybe. ;) Thanks for the heads-up too, I had already bought yesterday's item before I saw this thread, but at least others can get it before it's gone. :) SnowS

I hope they'll release something cool (and possibly stand-alone) before my DesolationEarth voucher expires. If not, I'll be left out in the cold. Nothing to worry, you CAN get used to not having credit card. You just have to keep your eyes tightly closed when visiting Poser sites :D. Anyone got a spare 1$ DAZ GC ? grins

Right. You only need the Hiro figure if you want to analyze the clothing yourself. But if you are just looking to fit Hiro's clothing to a different figure, all you need is the .dat file and the clothing, and then you just use "convert to".

Yep, you can put out a plea for someone who has WW and the clothing you have, and ask them to do an analysis for you. I'm working on a page that has all of the analysis files I have done and will post the link there when it's done. Poser has a great community. So many people willing to help others. It's incredible :) I get a warm fuzzy feeling when I think about it :)

New item up; Darya, a texture for V3 and other unimesh figures. Described as "Eastern European", another fair-skinned blonde. Probably her ancestors have been in that part of the world since the viking traders came through on their way to Constantinople.

Cute! But I'm going to resist. I have way more character addons than I can keep up with. I'm seeking clothing ... hopefully for A3 seeing that I've just started working with her in Poser and find that I like the character quite a lot. Didn't think I would.

Hm, now I have a question about WW...so if you have the .dat file and WW itself, you can use clothing that others have converted? I ask because I only have Poser 4 (which is not compatible with WW), and I would probably buy it if I could use the conversions without having to upgrade Poser. Can someone explain in a little more detail what the requirements are just to USE converted clothing .dat files, not to actually do the converting? Thanks, SnowS

Snow, I'm afraid you can't use WW if you don't have Propack, P5 or P6 since it's a python-based app that works from inside Poser, not stand-alone. The only thing that .dat files help you with is that in order to analyze the clothing before you convert it you have to have the figure it was meant for. So, if someone else analyzes it for you and gives you the .dat file all you would need to buy is the clothing item and then just convert it to whatever figure you want (provided it's a supported one). For example, I don't have nefti's Toon Gal but I like one of her outfits, someone who has the gal and the outfit analyzes it for me, I buy just the clothes and convert to Aiko. Hope this helps.

Well you NEVER have anything good to say about DAZ, that's why it's always safe to assume that when you show up in threads like these, you'll have something negative to say. I'm not saying that you're not entitled to your opinion, but, to put it nicely, you've become a tad predictable. ;) SnowS

They'll probably have a fix posted soon. Last time they had a sale there were one or two items that required a fix, and they were pretty quick to get it done. You should Email them and let them know the problem.

The Darya MAT files for the make-up reference a file which isn't either in the install or a Poser default.

Change references to "anya_teeth.jpg" to "darya_teeth.jpg"

I'm not sure why, but they use the darya_teeth.jpg as a transmap on the teeth, which is something the other MAT files don't do.

Okay, I do not know if you are around this thread anymore, but how do you buy a Voucher? I am going to assume you meant GCs.

Why didn't you just ask for a refund for the unused amount of the GCs. If you were leaving and never coming back. I am sure DAZ would have helped out. If you were not leaving, GCs that you buy never expire. Shoot, you most likely could have sold them to someone, dollar for dollar. I know DAZ allows Claimed GCs to be used to buy GCs for others. I do it all the time.

I get the feeling sometimes that you just do not like DAZ, but you are unable to keep yourself from going there. This is not the fault of DAZ, other than they have great products and have great sales. LOL

I meant gift certificates. Don't worry I've spent them already. My only point is that I'm not going to buy them again for any sale, hoping I can buy something with them in a sale. I may just as well pay per item.

Platinum Club members do get time-limited vouchers, but you'd lose the voucher value whatever you didn't use it on. That could be a bit annoying, I agree. The current "Desolation Earth" thing from Daz wasn't doing anything for me. I would have wondered just what to spend my money on. But if I don't use all of the Gift Certificate I bought, I'll certainly get the Swamp Boat.

The Darya texture looks OK on Aiko, but there's nothing special about it. Nice big texturemaps, big enough for close-up renders, and big enough to be awkward otherwise. I couldn't recommend paying full price.

Isn't that desolation earth voucher only good on desolation earth items? I thought that's what I read in the email. I am not on my laptop at the moment so can't check.

The DE Voucher can be used on anything as a Normal Voucher. This was changed when DAZ discovered their store does not support Cash Off Coupons. They made it a Voucher, but now it is only good for up to 50% Off PA Items, but to make up for that they are allowing it to be used on anything that a Voucher can normally be used.

The DE voucher was originally supposed to be a coupon valid only on DE items.

DAZ found that they couldn't make a fixed amount coupon work in their store software, so changed it to be a voucher which can be used towards any item and subject to all the normal voucher rules.

Great :( I think I trashed mine when I saw it was only good on that earth stuff, which i wasn't interested in.

just got the one from the newsletter and claimed it...added $10 to my voucher total ... Its listed at DAZ in the forum commons...in the Desolation Earth thread ...couple paragraphs down
