Lower the "Shading Rate" at least down to 0.2.
You'll have to experiment to see how low on a per hair basis because it depends on how fine the transmap is.
If the render times get too much, try blurring the transmaps in your graphics app of choice.
Try using "Cartoon", or "Cartoon w/lines", or "Hidden line mode".
ad 1): This is caused by wrong shading rate settings. Reduce the shading rate from the default 0.2 to 0.05 on the object properties of the hair, and reduce minimum shading rate in the render settings dialog to 0.05 too. That'll get rid of the noisy textures. ad 2): Sorry, can't help you there. I've noticed that behavior too, and I haven't found out yet what to change in the .cr2 /.hr2 files to fix it. ad 3): Both Sapphire Fox and Agent ar beautiful hairstyles, very well made and loaded with morphs. I find Agent hair is more versatile. If you decide to purchase Agent Hair, I can heartily recommend the addon product Agent Hair Steps by shahara - it contains loads of poses that fit the hair to many different characters - V2, V3, A3, Posette, Jessi, Judy, Mayadoll, the Girl, H.E.R., M2, M3, Don and more. Plus some nice looking styles for both males and females. ad 4): I can recommend Grace Lion hair and Shag Hair(Quarker) and Atlantic Hair, History Hair, Paradise Hair and Ponytail (3Dream). I also use DAZ Wild&Messy Hair for V3/SP, but you'll have to get some better textures - the default ones are too low-res.

Since I got Wardrobe Wizard, I'm seriously hooked on the hair at this link. Plus there is some seriously great dynamic hair at this link: http://www.adorana.de/downloads/categories.php?cat_id=1&sessionid=d5d79dbb056e84080f1c1869f796afb0&sessionid=d5d79dbb056e84080f1c1869f796afb0"It is good to see ourselves as

I have the same problems and often get frustrated in trying to get hair to do what I want it to do. I hate it when it pokes through the arms or neck and when it renders with a white film around it. I love the Sapphire Fox hair and use it a lot. If you get it, you must also get Firebird's fits and styles package. The hair wouldn't be complete without it. I have Agent Hair too, but haven't tried it yet. I picked up CC Hair (available on Renderosity) and used it tonight. It's nice looking and easy to use with a lot of fits for various models. But the hair products I use most are 3Dream's and Quarker's. Bobette Bryan

Studio maya has a lot of good free hair, most of it is not made for v3 but should be easy to reposition and rescale. This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Hi guys, Despite all of the clothes, props, poses, and sets Ive amassed, I find myself using the same hairstyles for V3 over and over again. A lot of the hairstyles I have give me problems. I figured I run them by the veterans here: 1. Noisy Textures! What causes this? I know texture filtering corrects the problem, but it triples my rendering time, so I avoid it at all costs. I have a lot of otherwise gorgeous hairstyles that I rarely use because of this. 2. I have a few hr2s/cr2s by Koz and 3 Dream that I can only display as wireframes in the preview window. The display style options for neither elements nor figures will let me use texture shading on these hairstyles. They render beautifully, but I need to see what Im working with in order to make style adjustments. Any ideas? 3. Im seriously thinking about picking up either Sapphire Fox hair or Agent Hair. Is one better than the other? Ill probably end up getting both 4. Ive mainly been using Mily Hiar (Lisbeth), Slick Hair (Daz), Strike It Ponytail (Daz), Lux Hair (3 Dream) and just about everything from Koz. Any other suggestions for good-looking hair? Thanks guys!
