I am new to this forum, not to Renderosity, well kinda still new to Renderosity as well...Anyhow here is my question. I do take some pictures, I am not the photographer, my dad is....Anyhow, I like coloring old photos, restoring old photos. Would this be something people would be interested in seeing? Where would I post some of my work if they are. I have enclosed a sample of one of the images I restored and colored. Would love to get some advice on anything I could do to be better or anything at all for that matter...Thanks for letting me ramble.. Leigh

Yeah Chris is right. You have to be very talented to seamlessly fix all those cracks. I know as I used to do it for a living. You have done a pretty neat job there. It also can be painstaking and requires a heck of a lot of patience. Let us see some more. This forum is about all aspects of Photography. Colm...

Thank you guys so much...I have really tried. I am trying to convince my parents to scan a bunch of the old family pictures they have so I can fix them up. They love what I do, but never have the time to do the scanning and since they are in southern Florida and I am in Northern Florida I just can't go over and do it for them... Anyhow, I will make some more posts of some other things I have done. Thanks again.

well Guy i know it whas a pain in the old way but got to say today is still needing patience....But have you work with paint shop pro with the texture copier.....woopy it save so much time and it is fun to use....

Which Paintshop Pro? 6 or 7? I have 6 installed..Installed 7 and got really frustrated with it so uninstalled it....But if there are some neat effects that can be done, I might have to rethink the installing and trying it out...Thanks for any input

I used I believe PaintshopPro 5 when I first started, and was loathe two years later to even get the newer versions. You know how you make something your own, and are so used to it? Well, when I went to photoshop, I used to open it up, look around and then shut it down....Now I cannot live without it. Experiment, thats the key I think.... Syyd

so in paint shop 6 and 7 it is there.... look at my picture youll see on the bottom left the icone selected as a look like double brush...that is what i whas speaking about the texture copier....look a the pict 10 sec to duplicate the rigth hand image....now let you mind go what ever else you may like to modify or retouch....

You are using the clone brush then. I have tried and used this brush a lot..I love this brush...

yes leighp1 it is the clone brush and it is very usefull for retouching old picture. Syyd i do not no if you did use it before but you simply select the clone brush then go over the region you wish to reproduce elsewhere then you press shift and rigth click hold it and move over the region you whant to reproduce the cloning effect then release and click left to start cloning....and enjoy at first it is tricky but youll get the touch eith time...Also to choose the form of your tool you go over the cloning brush then rigth click you see a menu that you will choose option tools then on your screen you should see the tool option bar flotting around click on it and inside you should see all the option about the cloning round brush or square....how much area you whant to clone...

This was a real quick on, but here is my example of the cloning brush. YOu can take pictures and basically copy them onto another canvas with out having to select the area, cut and paste and all that fun stuff....Its not much of an example, but you should be able to see where I cloned..
