Subject: Artist of the month....

The 4th Party ( ) posted Mon, 19 February 2001 at 11:00 PM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 11:02 PM

We of the Render Wars beleive that the next artist of the month should be.... All of us, sure, our canvases are painted with blood, but that's our artistic liceance, thank you for your time 4 (representative)

Cheryle ( ) posted Mon, 19 February 2001 at 11:02 PM

I second 4's suggestion. Our pix actually do something, not just the same old static nakid person in a static pose hey look at me kind of thing. We have action adventure trysts and oh yeah lotsa blood and guts ;)

Ironbear ( ) posted Fri, 23 February 2001 at 12:46 PM

I'll go along with that. Trysts? Man... I have been out of the wars too long. I'm missing out on all the sex and violence... ;[

AOM, should be an artist (1 member of the community) - where we can link to that person's work. I noticed in the nominations - you have selected render warriors. Is there an artist in particular - you would like to nominate that represents the render warriors? Please nominate them. Will not be able to list render warriors as a vote, no works to link to.

need to nominate 1 person (a member)- one we can link to there works in the gallery. : ) this is an event that hightlights a members work in the gallery. thanks

Ironbear ( ) posted Sun, 25 February 2001 at 6:51 PM

Try this guys... Create a hot mail email address to use, then create a Renderosity member login as "Render Warrior". That way we'll have a membership that can be used to upload the Render Wars stuff to the gallery in one gallery location. Only criteria for inclusion is that it has to be images from either the render wars forum or the Taver from before the Render Wars forum was created. My suggestion is that Comments and Ratings be enabled on the image uploads. Oh, and make sure that all of the Redner Warriors have the login and password so that we can handle our own image uploading - keeps from shafting one person with all the work. As long as we only use that log in for the gallery upload, not for chat or the forums, I don't see a problem with this - and it solves the debate on how to get us in the AoM qualification.

after many long War Counsel meeting on the subject.... no

Ironbear ( ) posted Sun, 25 February 2001 at 11:52 PM

Oh well. Guess that kills the Render Warrior AoM thing. That was the only way around it I could see. Got a better idea?

The 4th Party ( ) posted Mon, 26 February 2001 at 12:51 PM

how can everyone upload everything into one gallery at 6 images a day?

Ironbear ( ) posted Mon, 26 February 2001 at 1:03 PM

Uh. They can't. It'll take several days... maybe even several weeks. Never thought or said it could all be done at once, it'll take some time. That'll give the viewers time to get used to seeing and browsing RenderWarriors work, which may or may not give them a reason to vote Render Warrior as AoM one day.

TammyMc i suggest you talk to rcooke, he is the one who told us we could post as render warriors as AOM.

rcook ( ) posted Mon, 26 February 2001 at 5:17 PM

Actually, I said to feel free to nominate whomever you wanted to. I didn't say that "Render Warriors" was going to be accepted as-is as an AOM nomination. I don't handle the AOM polling process and can't speak with any authority on what is acceptable for a nomination.

elgeneralisimo ( ) posted Mon, 26 February 2001 at 6:55 PM

"I don't handle the AOM polling process and can't speak with any authority on what is acceptable for a nomination." Well, who does ? Where are the AoM rules & regs. posted anyway ? /could see this one coming a mile away/

rcook ( ) posted Mon, 26 February 2001 at 7:04 PM

Isn't the title descriptive enough? AOM = Artist Of the Month

I will get information about the AOM before the next nominations. Do not want any more confusion. Our apologies to the render warrior group. tammy

The 4th Party ( ) posted Tue, 27 February 2001 at 3:16 AM

We of the Render Wars have always been about Community Involvement, we have invited others to participate through posts, comments, and guest appearances in renders. It saddens us that a little change in a link address should keep the works of many fine artists from being seen by people who don't visit the forums. that is all.... 4

Ironbear ( ) posted Tue, 27 February 2001 at 2:23 PM

Agreed on that one. There is some truly excellent work on display in that forum.

We highlight the forums via Ironbear's articles. This provides us with a glimpse of a forum and what it is about. We hyperlink within those articles to make it even easier to view. Wanting to promote what you do and are about. Our method for highlighting the gallery is AOM. This is the only recognition we have set up for it. thanks tammy

Ironbear ( ) posted Tue, 27 February 2001 at 8:44 PM

And I gave the Renderwars a full highlight in one column, and will be giving it another series when we do the Alliance head interviews.
