Thats great; I hope your wife finds it useful. Also though IMO, there is probably something there for most people, sometimes you (or at least I) can get set in your ways and neglect some fundamental things and a site like this can be a good reference point and reminder.

:) Aye. Went through it, and learned a few pointers. The Metering Mode was the main one for me. I have a canon 20D, so it's like it was made for me.

For me, not having visited the link yet...just to remember to get white balance right and be sure I am using the correct ISO. These two simple mistakes(oversights) have made me mess up more than one pic. Tom For beninners with a DSLR or even other advanced digital cams, the menus can be confusing. Having the book with you at first is a good idea...which button to push to bracket, for instance.

Tom, if you shoot RAW you can change the white ballense prior to process, its a good get out of jail card. Nothing you can do about ISO though

LostPatrol, just read how you got the nickname. Neat. Yes, I do shoot raw on some images but not all. The cd cover thing was shot in raw and bracketed. I generally set WB beforehand using a card shot when using other than sunlight. Otherwise, "auto" works pretty well in raw. RAW is a good get out of jail card, agreed. My problem is simple-mindedness..simply forgetting sometimes to be sure all basic stuff is set that needs to be set before shooting. I am better than before...it was digital menu overload, I think. If I remember that correctly. LOL. Tom. (Scottish? My family originated in Wales, best I can figure, both sides of the family, long ago.)
