i ahve used an S from an old font thingy that i have laying around. it is a new school year, and i need a need insignea. any one have a good font for me? (free) and an awsome S that i can use?

Why keep using an 's'? You should give Blender a try.

do a search on Google for free fonts, each free font site shows an example of the fonts..

I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.

And it would be helpful if you described that "awesome S" more closely. Woodcut initial? Grunge font? Serifed? Script?

there a zillions of fonts (or actually the same 800 or so at a zillion sites) on the internet. If you can make a picture, I could see what it's called. Oh..ancient fonts..remind me tonight, and I'll send you all my font links (about 60 or so). If you do a Google on cuniform (cuneform? try Nahkt as well, or runes, ogham, linear b, meirotic (sp?), phonecian, etc., you should get some hits. I've got about 2,500 fonts downloaded (though Windows gets flakey if you install more than 1,000..;)
btw- elefont and Wings 3d will also do 3d fonts..if you like.
