This may not be new, but I discovered it only from a couple of days.

If you put the windows taskbar on the top of your screen (see picture), while using Bryce the bar will work normally and you'll be able to switch between other applications, launch new ones, watch the clock ans so on.

Yes it's not usual to have the taskbar on top, but it works well. Your desktop will look more like that of a computer running Mac OS or Amiga OS, but it takes short time to get get used to it.

I've got bryce 5, but I guess it works well with earlier versions.

This is not a problem, it's a design feature......

If you are one of those who use the disappearing windows taskbar at the bottom of the screen, you'll see that when you hit the bottom of your screen (when in Bryce) - not only will your taskbar appear, but so will your toolbar at the top! @ thebryster: design feature or not, it works on some computers and on some others not. I don't know why, or what configuration you may need. On my old computer the taskbar disappeared and appeared from below with no problem, on my actual it doesn't. Bah, windoze misteries. @ tjohn: I did't catch well the meaning of your sentence, but it must be something between Freud's oral and anal stage :P

Zakalwe: Bryster got the reference. It's a bit of lyric from the Who's album "Tommy".
