Why not just export them from LightWave as .obj files? Poser much prefers these over any other type of object. If you're planning on texturing these models, a LW5 object is useless, because that version doesn't support uv mapping, whereas .obj does. I just realised you didn't say whether you had LW or not. If you don't, try this conversion program.Message edited on: 09/12/2005 19:56
Deep exploration should be able to convert lightwave 7 files. It is not free but it is a very good converter.
The export lightwave 5 objects in lightwave is not very good, it doesn`t do a very good job of it.
Accutrans can convert them too, I prefer using that instead of deep exploration.

Poseray will do it very well and for free. It saves all the Lightwave material settings into an MTL file accompanying the converted mesh which can then be read back into Poser. It really is very good. There's a brief discussion of it here:

As many of you probably know, Bryce and Poser can utilize Lightwave models up to version 5.0 I believe...but I have several models that are 7.0 that I need to convert to an older format for use in Poser/Bryce. Does anyone know of a good conversion program (even if it's not freeware)...that can convert from 7 downward without losing integrity of the models? Or is anyone out who has Lightwave willing to convert models for me? I will pay for conversions. (Yes, need them that bad! Ha, ha.) Any help appreciated.
