Subject: Please Help is possible

I downloaded Poser 6 and am having all kinds of problems with it. Their Tech Support seem to be at a loss as to why these things are happening. These are the things, thus far, that I cannot do in Poser 6. I cannot: change general preferences without my computer freezing, i cannot do any adjustments in the materials room with the system freezing. My parameter dials seem to be set a zero and I have to use the dial in order to make adjustments and and cannot enter parameters in the small box that appears to the right without the system freezing. I cannot use the lights tab to make adjustments in shadows or whatever. Can someone give me an idea as to what's going on and how to resolve this? My graphics card driver is supposedly up to date so I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thnx

have you defraged your hard drive recently? if there's bits of poser all over your drive then it has a harder time loading it up.

Try changing your Preview Drawing (under Display). If it's OpenGL, change it sReed. If it's sReed, change it to open GL.

If that doesn't work, try turning off your firewall and antivirus program, and see if that fixes it. Not permanently, just as a test to see if that's what's causing the problem.

Hello everyone, Out of frustration, I did a complete system restore and now things work fine. It's been a real pain but at least I can get things going again. Thanks very much for all of the responses.
