This is a test of lighting in LW for a closed bridge set, ie the top is on it. The bridge is by a friend of mine from the 3D Gladiators- SeanR. I converted it to LW with help from another friend- Fabio (had to call him in for some help on the conversion. The tS file was freakin' out!) bridge_test.jpg After I get the lighting pegged, I'll add more characters to the bridge.

Are you using the Pro Pack to host the characters in LW, or standard Poser LW export? Anthony Hernandez Senior Technical Writer Curious Labs

Anthony, can't afford Pro Pack yet :o) Though trust me, I've heard enough about it to get it when I can. Meantime, I have to use to old methods of imports for renders. Actually, this is my first render in 6.5! I normally use 5.6 because 6.5 wasn't running right on my comp. But with a slight upgrade on the comp, I can now run 6.5. Gonna take some getting used to, because I am so attached to 5.6 L

Excalibur bridge??? Funny I thought that was the old Enterprise. Dave

A history lesson in the original Trek :o) There were twelve Constitution Class ships, of which the Enterprise was but one of them. Each ship in TOS had their own crew emblem on their shirts (See Commodore Decker in the Doomsday Machine ep. He was captain of the USS Constellation). The one for the Enterprise was adapted Starfleet wide just prior to The Motion Picture. The USS Excalibur appeared in the TOS ep "The Ultimate Computer". It's captains name was Harris (Captain Harris was the only name given). The character above is my take on what Harris may have looked like (he wasn't shown. Only name mentioned), with the Excalibur crews emblem on his shirt (a swordish emblem)

Well Harris looks alot like Kirk to me. Maybe that's why I mistook it. No need for the history lesson. Knew much of what you said anyway. Dave

Looks fantastic! Great job of re-creating the look of TOS. Is the entire bridge modelled, or just what we see? Is it availible for download at 3d gladiators?

WarriorDL ( ) posted Thu, 01 March 2001 at 9:47 AM

animation, the entire bridge is modeled. It's actually based on the ahem :o) Trek Animation Series from the 70's. The only big diffs between the TOS bridge and the TAS bridge is the TAS bridge has two turbo shafts while the TOS bridge has only one, and the TOS bridge ceiling was never shown, yet in TAS it was, so the ceiling is also the TAS one :o) As for DLing it from the Gladiators- As soon as our DL Center is ready, it'll be available along with many other awesome bridges by SeanR. Right now, however, there is a bridge available on my personal site by Keoto at "Warrior of 3D Art along with his briefing room and transporter room.
