Subject: Cintiq 17SX or 21UX...anyone have experience with these tablets?

Eroticartist ( ) posted Mon, 19 September 2005 at 5:32 PM · edited Sat, 23 November 2024 at 9:52 PM

Hi! I'm really interested in buying one of these tablets and would love to hear from anyone that owns one or has used one and what their opinion is. I have a Wacom Graphire and don't like that detached feeling....painting directly on the screen sounds perfect! Any suggestions or opinions on the Cintiq 17SX or the new 21UX? Think it's worth the high price tag? Anything you find annoying about it or glitches? What you like about it? Thanks!! Barbara

I use the Aiptek 12000U and I think it is great and at a great price too especially if your just starting out. Where else can you get a 12"x9" drawing tablet for under $100...?

Thanks for your reply. I already have 2 tablets like that....I was interested in the Cintiq 21UX where you actually see your art on the tablet and draw and paint right on that. See link. Thanks!!!

Yes, I do see what your talking about. That certainly beats the dual display. I like very much...21" display...ability to paint directly onto the model...hummm...why did you have to show me this??? :-)

I know! It's amazing isn't it? I only found one post regarding this product in the Forums but it wasn't very informative. So I wrote the person that actually owns one for his opinion. (: It looks too cool to pass up!

Oh yes, very nice! But it does have a high price tag attached. OTOH, when you calculate in that it is a 21" display...hummmm

It's still a high price tag. :( Someone else went with a tablet PC. Not exactly the same being 14" instead of 21" but similar reason. I'd love to have one of these but I'm not going to be paying that much for it. I might consided the tablePC route though but they aren't cheap either compared to other notebooks. Unfortunately not experience with any of these things. I'm still using an older Intuos at home.
