Guys, i have done so many versions of this image, and i'd really like some help so i can finally finish it.

which version do ya'all like better???

i love this one...the softened, faded version 'cause she just looked and sounded like an angel when she was singing. But then i like the other one too.

i just wanna finally be done with this image. Your suggestions and feedback sure is appreciated!!!!!!! :) edit: i used a vignetting filter on this...still gotta fix those corners.

I like #2 better. The washed out effect on the top doesn't work for me with such a close crop. In #2, did you try darkening the midrange? I playe with it a little...not sure I made it any better though.

The top one is soft and I can see why you thought it gave her an angelic quality, but I have to say I prefer the second one.Her eyelashes didn't seem right to me on the top one. Also the second one has a vintage live 'album' look to it that I really like.

Yep #2 for me as well - I would just get rid of that watch and thats it :)

oh and on second look the stray hair across her eyelash too.

Definitely with more contrasts for me too! #2 then that is! ;)

Going to have to agree with the majority here Shelia, number two for me. The shot is so tight that you are losing important details with the vignetting. A little bit more breathing room would have allowed for the vignetting me thinks! Brenda :)

I gave it a whirl! *shrug* :)

Thanks so much for your input, guys!!!! Kemal also preferred #2. Richard...what watch? do you mean the ring that's on her finger? Stray hair across her eyelash? Gosh, my eyes are getting bad i guess. I'll have to look at my full resolution image to see it. thanks! :) Kort, Brenda...thanks for showing me your versions!! I really appreciate you taking the time!!! i'm still preferring the first image i posted. sigh. well, maybe i'll print work on them both a bit more, print them out and see. Thanks so much guys! you've helped me a lot!!!!! Kort...i can't remember if i tried darkening the mid-range. i'll give it a whirl and see though.

Well I'm going to go against the grain and say I like the first one better, her eyes and face are definitely softer looking. What I would do is take number 1 and darken the microphone to add the contrast.

Great idea, Jack! Think i'll try that. I've worked on this image for hours again tonight, and i just keep going back to that first one. that's the one i love. Thanks for the tip, Jack, as well as your input! sure do appreciate it! :)

i like the first one too... like jack said.. you can layer the softer one over the 2nd & erase back ever so lightly some of the details, like the mike & maybe her eyelashes, teeth & lips.. it's totally up to you sheila :]
