Hi, I'm relatively new to the world of Poser. I've been using POser 6 for a month now and I have a very basic question for the experts (and there are so many of you out there--it's very encouraging to know this community is so willing to help). My question--how do you import V3 and Michael from Daz Studio into Poser 6? (They work just fine in Daz Studio, but I prefer P6's interface to that of Daz Studio.) I have the feeling the answer is pathetically easy. Is it? Aside from that, Poser 6 is a blast--I'm so glad I finally gave it a shot after all these years!

Not sure where you installed them the first time so if you haven't installed them into P6 I would suggest doing so. Then you can access them via P6's runtime.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

My way: Put the DAZexe file into a folder. Doubleclick on the exe. Choose no for an uninstaller. Choose Poser as the host app. Then specify the path back to the folder in which you have the exe. You get a readme (usually not worth reading) that I delete, and inside the runtime folder, a folder called weblinks which also goes into limbo. I give the characters, poses, props,...folders a better name (for me). Then, in explorer, I drag the runtime unto the Poser folder and copy it there. The original folder I save on a CD (all my folders are numbered like: D001_V3, and Re001_Blabla Re is Renderosity) and on an external HDD. With the images and/or the page that comes with the product inside that same folder.

If you have the exe files I think you should be able to re-install it and choose Poser6 as the target folder. Mine says Poser5 sometimes but it still goes to my P6 Runtime. This way you have them ready for D/S or P6. Hope this helps.

thanks to everyone for thier help. I was able to move V3 and Michael over from Daz and into Poser 6. I moved the head and body morhps for both EXCEPT the full-body INJ/REM for V3. I actually can't find those files, tho I was able to move the V3 head morphs. do I need to REMOVE those morphs from V3 in Daz to make the actually files available? or am I a bigger spaz/newbie than I thought? and I have the same question as Esther--I tried to open a V3 model I created in DS using P6 and it didn't work. and I couldn't seem to do a save as to change the file extension. thanks again to everyone for their help!

Locate the !Daz folder and make sure it's under the Libraries folder in P6. Sounds like you did this but it's best to mention anyway. Your Head and body morphs are in the !V3 folders under the Pose library. Whatever you have made in DS stays in DS format, unusable in Poser. It can be imported into Bryce as a unposeable figure. That's one of the reason I don't use DS, uneditable, proprietary format.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.
