I am alive and have a home and power. I was So very lucky and blessed. Please continue your prayers for the ones that were less fortunate and if you are able to ... the Red Cross can use any donations. I have friends that were in the direct path of the storm and have not heard from them. Niles

All my very best to my American cousins. And, significantly, my little brother James and sister in law, Christy. I really, really - as much as I can express this - hope you good people are all safe and well. You're all a huge, loud pain in the arse when you're here but without you, we wouldn't have anyone to take pity on or feel superior to. ;) (Just in case that wasn't clear enough - I hope you Mercan SOB's are ok. And iffen you ask for a group hug, I be reaching for my gat, ya get me? :D

I can't believe that I nearly moved to Port Lavaca, Texas after I graduated. They aren't all that far from Galvaston so they were probably affected too. In the end I decided I could live with the snow and cold.. but couldn't live with the idea of spiders and snakes, which I were told lived in abundance down there. blech! Glad you're ok.

Ey, Galveston isn't too bad of a place; anywhere that Glen Campbell sings about can't be all bad, and as it happens, a best friend lives in some place he had a big hit with, so there. :)
