Subject: Free hallway?

magnus13 ( ) posted Mon, 26 September 2005 at 9:03 PM · edited Sat, 30 November 2024 at 2:30 AM

Hi there, Anyone know where to find a simple hallway (for a house)? None of the ones in free stuff on here are suitable for what I need. Thanks. Michelle

You want it to look sort of modern? With a few doors along the sides?

Hi. Yes. I have the living room from SAMS3D & have the door open, so need a hallway in the background.

See how this serves. It has an open door at one end, and several closed doors around the rest. You may need to use the grouping tool to hide the open end-wall, in order to make it fit against the door in Sams living room.

Try this..take any primitive..inset to thickness at each end, then intrude each end, and Bobs' yer uncle..use it all the time..

Here's an improved version with the end already open, and a light on the ceiling.

Thanks ockham. Am I able to change the door textures to a woodgrain (unpainted) colour, similar to SAMS3D? Poser isn't my specialty, so if not no worries, I can change them during postwork in Photoshop. Thanks again. :)

I'll give you wood doors. Hold on a sec....

Try this one. The materials are organized better. The enclosed wood.jpg is sort of generic; you can substitute a more grainy one if you want.

ockham, won't you PLEASE think of us poor untalented hacks who are always searching desperately for something simple to add to the marketplace to make lots of $$$ off of? Sheesh.

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Tue, 27 September 2005 at 1:56 AM

RealDeal.. You ARE joking, right?

If not, this is tasteless.

Thanks Ockham.

(I also made a hallway once, modular, which Oclham made a python script for so it can be loaded as a loooong one, as long as you want, just by running the script over and over)

Another type of hallway though, more like a hotel (at least that was what I had in mind when I made it)

Thanks Ockham, you can never have too much of this sort of versatile use-anywhere stuff.

RealDeal has 16 items in freestuff, and 1 in his store, so I think it's fair to assume he was joking.

:D :) ;) Edited to spell proper. :)

Those of us with Poser 5 and later can also generate woodgrain with procedural shaders. It seems to come out as realistic fake-wood...

EnglishBob.. I thought as much :o) It's the awkward thing about the internet. Without smilies it's impossible to tell if someone is joking or being serious. :o) But I did know ReadDeal had free stuff available (I've downloaded some of it, too) so... :o)

Don't worry, RealDeal, I'm also desperately trying to come up with something that will sell!

I've been looking at the trends, and when I extrapolate the figures, I think I have discovered the ideal Marketplace item. Gentlemen, I am working on the univertex thong pantie. Though the UV map is going to be a bit awkward.

"Extrapolating the figures" would probably be a best-seller in itself.......
