Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this! I did a free stuff search for "boots" and found a cute pair for Sara. When I clicked for the DL my machine got a virus.Well, almost,Norton AV stopped it.I e-mailed 'rosity on Friday about it but I know they get backlogged,so I figured I'd let you all know. This is "boots for Sara"by "PickersAngel"! This is NOT an easily removed virus! Joe

When I found the boots in Freestuff, all I got was a "Page Not Found"(404 error). I'm not Pickersangel, but try here instead.

Thanks for the heads up, Helen. I'm not sure what's going on with the Rendo free stuff, since those files are hosted by Rendo. My freebie files on other sites are hosted by Sara 3D Creations, and everything should be OK there. Please rest assured that my files are NOT uploaded with any type of virus.

In checking things out, the Rendo freebies are also hosted by 3D Sara Creations. I found that the location of the files had been changed by the host site, so users trying to download the files would have received an error message of "Page not found". Any virus problems are unrelated to these files, as the files weren't even available through the Rendo link at the point in time when this claim was made. I've updated the link to the files, so they are again available through Rendo.

I got the virus warning the other Day when I went to 3d Sara Creations. There is a post about it at Daz. I believe they may have been hacked. Before closing the AV Warning I opened the page source. The first line was a call to a random named javascript file. After I was sure Norton deleted the virus. I went back to 3D Sara to check it again. No warning and when I viewed the source, the line calling the js file was gone. So it looks like it is being inserted dynamically either at random or by your first visit. Someone in the Daz forums was going to contact the site owner, but that was several days ago.

There is a post about it at Daz.<< Mystic-Nights, Could you please point me in the right URL at Daz for this post you speak of. I can't seem to find it. Thanks, you're a doll. :)

Please let me clarify something here.I was Not making any implications toward PickersAngel OR Rendo. I clearly realize that links can be hacked and fouled up. We all know that if we click,we do so at our own risk.I simply wanted to reduce that risk for the rest you. Now off I go to try the above link. These boots look great.Thanx PickersAngel. Joe

This is why it's so important to rid yourself of using IE. I quit using it when I got one of those virus's and then vowed "never again!". I had heard of Fire Fox awhile back and finally decided to give it a whirl. I'm glad I did and it's now my default browser. Now, I'm not saying that FF will remain in a state of grace, but so far it has. It's also the second leading browser used with IE being the first.

I just came back tonight from my vacations so I don't know exactly what and even IF we have a problem at 3dSaraCreations BUT I downloaded PA's boots from 3dSC (by the way, that file is not hosted directly at 3dSC but on jalberts.net) and there is nothing wrong there, either with the file or the site (I also have Norton Antivirus (updated regularly) and Norton Internet Security (also updated regularly). I also downloaded other files from that same page and no problem there either. AND I've downloaded stuff from 3dSC (hosted at 3dSC) and I've been browsing the forums for the last 10 minutes and everything is ok there too. I see there has not been any reply to this post since Sept.28... Have you seen something wrong there (jalberts.net and/or 3dSC) since? France Project Manager at 3dSaraCreations.com

No, we've not heard any more. I suspect that the poster on DAZ was correct--the virus was actually picked up on another site, but was set up to activate several clicks later, which made it look like it came from the 3DSC site.

Good! Well I'm glad someone mentioned this here. I would not like for people to be afraid of downloading our stuff.
