Jobs a good 'un :)
And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies
live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to
sea in a Sieve.

thanks guys! :) Pascale...no, it's not your monitor. those lines are there. i think it's called banding. anyway, it wasn't real noticeable in the high resolution image, but when i resized it, i noticed it. i tried resizing in different ways, but i could still see it. then kemal and i worked on it and tried several different things. we applied a gausian blur of 100 to the background layer (where the light is) but the it was still there. we tried a bunch of stuff, but no matter what we did it nothing got rid of it. anyway, i think it's kinda cool looking and decided to keep it the way it was...well maybe not!! LOL! :) to me...it looks like how i imagine sound being amplified. you guys think it's distracting??? perhaps i'm just being my silly self??? :) haha. i'm sure i am!!! :) thanks a bunch guys for your input. :)
The combination of 'darkness' and 'intensity' settings is giving you the banding I think.

Though I just tried and I can't replicate that effect.

ah...thanks, Richard. i had darkness set on 70 and intensity set on 85. i have the version saved with all the layers so i can change the lighting if i want to without a problem. i'll try adjusting those numbers and see what happens. i fell asleep last night while kemal was playing with this image. i woke up and found a version without the banding. well actually there is banding...just not as noticeable. i'll have to ask him what he did when he wakes up. i still like the look of this image with the banding but i might change my mind when i get out of my silly mood. LOL!! thanks for your help, Richard! :) appreciate it! :)

Thanks a bunch to all of you who gave me ideas & suggestions on this one. I loved Richard's idea and decided to go that route. Thanks SO much, Richard, for telling me how to go about doing it. i did deviate a bit, and here's my *final* version. well...i may end up adding something in the background or changing the color. i do love the blue and will probably print a version like that for Joey to see if he likes it better, but i really liked this one. whatcha guys think? i attached the link to the original thread in case anyone forgot what my other versions looked like.
