i'm getting "failed to create image variation" for each image. firefox, safari, ie on mac, though since this seems to be a server-side scripting error, the browser shouldn't matter.

Oopsy Daisy...IT guy on it now...appears to be a little site bump in the road...Give it a few minutes! I'm so sorry!!!!! tori ef

e_frontier ( ) posted Mon, 03 October 2005 at 4:20 PM

Go for it! All fixed!

xoconostle ( ) posted Mon, 03 October 2005 at 4:32 PM

No, it's not fixed. Images appear to be messed up across the entire e-Frontier site as I write this. I emptied my browser cache to be sure, and sure enough ... no images at the contest site or in several places at other e-Frontier pages. Try again.

Not fixed at all at my end either.

e_frontier ( ) posted Mon, 03 October 2005 at 4:53 PM

I am not sure what the problem is, as we are all seeing it fine internally and I think the IT guy thinks I am losing it. I just IMd some external friends and one reported the same problem as you, so I am going to have it looked into further, my apologies. I just wanna share all the good artwork darnit!

Lawndart ( ) posted Mon, 03 October 2005 at 4:57 PM

Works for me in IE and Netscape

Tunesy ( ) posted Mon, 03 October 2005 at 4:57 PM

...I promise I'll buy Poser 6 soon as you guys get your web act together ;)

rowan_crisp ( ) posted Mon, 03 October 2005 at 4:58 PM

For the record, I am using Firefox. Don't know if that might have something to do with it. Interestingly enough, when I booted up (ick) IE, they loaded. I reloaded from Firefox and all but one appeared. Browser incompatibility?

kobaltkween ( ) posted Mon, 03 October 2005 at 5:05 PM

actually, hon, it's your whole site. i'm seeing literally nothing on your homepage but a simple horizontal link list, search box and footer credits. none of the images are appearing. no need to apologize, just trying to help you troubleshoot.

Irish ( ) posted Mon, 03 October 2005 at 5:10 PM

I'm using IE6 and can't see anything either! :)

Lawndart ( ) posted Mon, 03 October 2005 at 5:12 PM

Yup... Now it's broken for me too.

kobaltkween ( ) posted Mon, 03 October 2005 at 5:13 PM

Yeah, it's not a browser compatibility issue, evidently. The entire e-Frontier site is still having problems.

Khai ( ) posted Mon, 03 October 2005 at 5:42 PM

then.. how did I vote????? confused as hell

xoconostle ( ) posted Mon, 03 October 2005 at 5:54 PM

"then.. how did I vote?????" Your friend Karl bought Diebold shares for you. Strictly off the books, of course.

I was thinking the same thing, but wasn't sure i should say it :) Didn't even enter myself because I felt my work wouldn't be up to par to enter a contest with such high attributes, as BEST OF THE BEST ...

Hi All! Sorry about all the EF site problems, but by the time we were back, you were all gone! The images were not from an open competition where anyone could enter. If an artist had submitted an image to the online gallery and was accepted, they were invited to select any image, it did not have to be the one they submitted. The other contest is the Best 10 years of Poser art which is open for all to submit to, and has some funny categories! Unfortunately, not everyone submits to the actual EF gallery, including what some of you consider the best, a lot of people prefer their art in the communities, which is fine, I just love to have my own little collection on the site. (Yes, I pretend like I own the galleries shhhh!) Not everyone invited chose to participate either. If you don't like what you see, get submitting!!!! Anyway, the site is back and you can vote once a round all month, but be certain I will be a squeaky wheel to remind you!! (I am so excited I can't stand it! I really love working with the communities and Poser artists. ;))

Here's a question for e_frontier.

All this talk of voting in a new competition and then submitting our art to another one - the question is what has happened to the Miss 3DCG contest?

Was that implimented by e frontier?

That was scheduled to finish and have winners announced a while ago.

However if you go to the contest page for it you see the following "Voting for the Miss3DCG contest has been postponed due to an unresolved technical issue. We hope to have voting on line very soon."

But if you go to the monthly contest there is a link to vote hidden half way down the page. - which i only found the link by accident.

Is this contest still a goer or has it died a natural death with only 41 very good enties?

The supreme irony of life is that hardly anyone gets out of it alive.
