Subject: Needed: Black and White "Checkerboard" Flooring

Does anyone know where I could find some black and white chess- or checkerboard flooring? I tried to make some for myself, applying it to a flat square primitive, but it never looked quite right. I have seen a lot of gorgeous floors of this type in renderings -- any clues as to where such a floor could be found would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and may you have a safe and happy weekend.

Search the library here and the links at left. As for using primitives for floors, you can apply any given texture to the Ground plane itself and eliminate the problem of having to level or move the prop floor.

Thank you so very much, Kate!!! They are all gorgeous. And I appreciate the advice about the ground plane too, Huolong:)))))) As for the bloodstained floor, lplp1...though it may indeed be pretty gruesome, one never knows when such a floor might be useful...especially in a 3D comic strip :))

Sorry, guys. I have two nicks here...My fiance thought Sparrowheart sounded lame, and bugged me to change to Soulsong. But both are me, and I thank you very much again :))) P.S. Anyone know how to delete a nick?

Hi Hey Huolong . The Floor I posted was not meant as an insult. It's all I had. I thought sparrowheart could airbrush or edit the red spot in PS and use it. Didn't mean to be cruel or unusual.

By the way. How do you display a floor texture in Poser?

KateTheShrew ( ) posted Sun, 04 March 2001 at 2:53 AM

To display the floor texture in Poser, click on "Display" on the tool bar and then select "Guides" from the drop down menu and select "Ground Plane" from the next menu. Then it's just a matter of going into the material editor and loading the texture you want to use for the floor (it will be listed as "ground" in the menu). As simple as that. :)
