Subject: Did anybody get Sunday's Treat at PoserPros?

Rachel_R ( ) posted Sun, 09 October 2005 at 8:03 PM · edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 4:14 PM

I can't find anything to get.....On the front page I clicked where it said "Click here to get Sunday's treat" but all the next page says is: You never learn... Back for more eh? Take our advise and stay away from any flaming paper bags on your doorstep. But you don't get away with just a warning, the PoserPros Gremlins have added a new message to all your forum posts for the rest of the month (see for yourself). Happy Halloween! There's no link to anywhere....

Today its a trick not a treat if you post something in the forums just look under your name :)

Rachel_R ( ) posted Sun, 09 October 2005 at 8:11 PM

thanks for the explanation...I don't have time for games..

Acadia ( ) posted Sun, 09 October 2005 at 8:25 PM

There was another one the other day for a discount code that didn't work too. I keep forgetting to look at that site for the daily "trick or treat". I must have missed some good deals.

bummer, Rachel Games are almost as good as free stuff and discounts..take about as much time, plus can be very entertaining. ;]

Uhmmm .. no offense, but if you don't have time for games, why are you even bothering to start with? It specifically say's .. Quote " You'll find a link to your daily treat (and sometimes tricks) right here." Unquote. Right above the linking. I realise the freebies are nice, but if you are going to play the game at all, don't complain about the other parts.

I don't have time for games That's a real shame. I do client work, too (and have deadlines, and I teach an online design course), but I found the trick cute and funny. It's a nice break from an otherwise busy day. Took all of five minutes and I got a smile out of it. bonni

I think her point might be that when you send kids around "trick or treating" on halloween, all they get are treats. I certainly don't remember being going to a house and being told "nya, nya, nya... trick!!!!" and leaving empty handed. I don't mind either way, but I can see how some might expect something each day. Unfortunately it's part of human nature.. the more you give away, the more people come to way. I appreciate all the freebies that I receive ... and the tricks along the way are kind of cute. The first one I ran across was the discount code that didn't work... it took me awhile to figure out that it wasn't supposed to, LOL

I appreciate all the freebies that I receive ... and the tricks along the way are kind of cute. Ditto. :-) It's fun to have a little play now and then, particularly when it's harmless. I hope I never lose my ability to play and get a giggle from simple things. bonni

Ditto here. If you can still smile on simple or silly things, it means you're still human. Even if you have to work hard to survive, it's good to have one minute to smile over something. It really helps stay alive.

It's kinda like taking time to smell the roses. The day will come when you wish you had. :-)

The day will come when you wish you had. :-) I always figure that on my deathbed I won't be saying, "Damn, I just wish I'd spent more time doing client work on a Sunday...." ;-P I probably will, however, look back and think how many pleasant moments I passed just having a giggle or a grin over something silly. bonni

LOL, ain't that the truth Bonni! Anyway to each his own I guess. I find it odd that she has time to come here and post about not getting a freebie, but not enough time for games....walks away shaking head.

I have come to believe that Poser people are some of the biggest complainers in the world! lol... I myself have even been drawn into the complain game over trivial stuff. Those that don't have time for games are desitined to look old and foolish.

Traditionally, it isn't the host at Halloween who hands out the tricks. Instead, the visiting goblins are the ones who "trick" the host -- if the host fails to deliver an appropriate "treat" to placate the goblins.

As for Poserpros' approach to the season -- sure, it's the type of thing that most people will probably think is cute. But you'll inevitably have those who'll be offended when they get "tricked". Can't be helped.

Yes it can be helped. Just get over yourself long enough to enjoy life instead of being such a stuffy poopoo head. Some people don't know how to have fun unless it is documented in writing for them to do! Lol!!

FishNose ( ) posted Mon, 10 October 2005 at 2:46 PM

Odd. I posted and all, then looked for a link and found none, not anywhere in the thread or in any of my posts. ?? So in the end I just gave up. :] Fish

Well -- if you can figure out a way to get everyone to adopt such an attitude, then more power to you.

In cases where someone is a "stuffy poopoo head", you aren't going to be able to convince them to act other than the way that they choose to. The world, as they say....is full of stuffy poopoo heads.

Some people have no sense of humour. Others do but not necessarily the same as his or hers or mine. If someone happens not to laugh at the same things I do there is no need for me to mock them. It is enough to simply accept our differences and move on. - Jack

I thought Halloween was October 31? This sounds like playing April fool on March 12.

Lucie ( ) posted Mon, 10 October 2005 at 4:54 PM

thanks for the explanation...I don't have time for games.. I find this kind of sad... I thought Halloween was October 31? This sounds like playing April fool on March 12. October 31 is just one day, they're just making the fun last a little longer, nothing wrong with that! ;)

LAMO..... When I click today's 'trick or treat', I am greeted with:

Quote - Thanks for stopping by, Acadia, and what a nice costume!

The funny part is that when I post on their boards, under my name in the left is a statement: > Quote - It's not a costume!

LMAO!!!

Not really... In real life, Halloween is just one day, if you do something to celebrate Halloween on the net that will last only that day, chances are you little special celebration will be missed by an awful lot of people cause it's just one day and on that day everybody is out celebrating in real life and not necessarily spending their time on the net. By spreading it during the entire month of october everybody has a better chance of enjoying what you want to offer for the occasion. Same for any other Holiday...
