For anyone still reading...or wondering...I am STILL dealing with kitty stuff... poor old Travis whom we got Nick for, for company, does not really care or like him, so ignores him and indeed "zones out" a lot and his age (sniffle) shows so VERY much more all the time... and Nick the little genius wild man still has diarrhea from the food he eats after both cats got over their colds and antibiotics, and trying other foods has produced terrible results (vomiting it up)... tested his "poo" for any parasites... (making the vet rich at this point)....negative on all fronts... so offered him some expensive special food for finicky cats that helps digestion etc... he tasted 2-3 pieces and proceeded to "cover it up" in disdain...and so now it's up to Mom to hold out and not give him is 'old' food back and see if he will give in and even eat enough of the new food to "try it"....but what happens with smart kitties? They wait to try and outsmart you... and now he has a lump on his upper leg....so one more trip to the vet for this... and bottom line, since Travis will not react to Nick, Nick cries for ME to be his playmate...and I am SO NOT getting another kitten FOR HIM... aaaaggghhhh!! So I continue to use the computer sporadically between litter box cleanings, feedings (Travis has to be watched and encouraged to eat his canned food for his sensitive tummy these days and a pill given each night for it)....and flick the "whip" (toy) for Nick when he will not let Travis drink water (no I do not whip Nick, it's a toy he dearly loves to chase)....and I am very tired from my health issues... I love new Nick but I so long for the time when I had even a little time with Poser, Vue etc.... and no, the cats cannot live in different rooms or parts of the house the way things are.... Well this Crazy Cat time has got to have an end, right? When we find a food that both Nick and his tummy likes...and when he will settle down a bit... (ya right, he is very young and still trying to do tightrope walks across the drapery rods).... oh boy! I do have some "personal time" when they nap...but Nick does not nap much... he has the energy of .... of... the sun?! (and his ear mites refuse to clear up, but we keep after them with medication from the "rich" vet)..... Can you tell I am going a bit nutty right now? Well time goes by...so trying to take it one day at a time and keep at all the situations and wait for things to resolve. Lyne

I can really understand what you are going through... and yes, still reading :) I am actually typing with Goopy sitting on my chest while my laptop is wel.. .on my lap :) (Don't ask why his name is Goopy). He used to be very exuberant as a kitten but now that he has turned into a big cat, he is just following me around like my second shadow. He likes it when I play with him but he got used to not play all the time. Maybe you can try doing what Mom cats do when they want time of their own : ignore him for a while. It is hard to do when they are so cute but it is part of their education. The food part is tough. Kitties can be so picky. Good luck with you cat... they can be a lot of trouble but they are well worth it,

Never had any problems with my cats. But they were both "out and indoor" cats, maybe that makes a difference too?

Aww, I'm sorry to hear the problems continue. I'll be hoping that it will all be okay soon. I wish you strenght to deal with it all. But keep in mind everyone has a time in their live where to go a bit nutty because of everything that is going on in their life at that time. :) Wendy

Thanks so much for your words of understanding and encouragement...I THINK that Nicki's new food may be working better for him...but Travis got ahold of some and it upset his tummy...so have to pick up Nick's when I think Travis is active... Nicki goes Friday morning to find out what the little lump/bump is on his leg and maybe get them to clean out his ears so the ear mite goo will get IN there better... I have resigned myself that Travis is aging FAST, is half deaf and now just needs all my love and care as he can't give any, anymore... Wild Nicki traveled like a fast train all around the room this morning and I did ignore him...they are both sleeping now... I am also looking into some speach programs that may allow me to dictate things like this post out loud... save my arm... Dragon Naturally Speaking is the least expensive but YEARS ago when I tried it, it just would not learn my speech... have more research to do..but if I find something like this, I can become lots more active in the forums... THanks again, (and yes, they are worth it....I know Nicki is a TREASURE and he will eventually settle down a bit I think...the "teenage year" is the hardest...) Lyne
