Subject: Poser versions

I've noticed that there seems to be quicker acceptance for Poser 6 than there was for Poser 5; 6 months after P5 came out the majority of users seemed to be sticking with P4P. Now, just a relatively short time after P6's release, the majority of posts here indicate that the users have P6, and are relatively happy with it. I waited until P5 had been out for a year before i even considered it, due to all the reported bugs, many of which still exist (like the hair room in general); is Poser 6 really such a superior product? should I forget waiting for it to stabilize and run out and buy it?

Yes, like the geepster says, don't wait any longer! Poser 6 is already stable, and it's a major jump upwards. Nothing like the issues there were from 4 to 5, and the benefits are worth it.

I dont know, it has been out a long time and there is still no service release 2 yet, reflections dont seem to work properly and there have been a lot of complaints about minor and major bugs.

All the major bugs I had at the beginning were ironed out with SR1. I'm sure there still are issues: reflections aren't something I've fiddled with for ages, I'll admit. I guess it depends on the sort of things you do with the programme.

But still - Poser 6 is a major step forward! I've used Poser since version 2 and this is definately the best yet. :)

Now, thinking about it - maybe Dr Geep wasn't telling you to run out and buy it. Maybe he meant "Run! Run far away from Poser 6. Run for your life!" :p

I haven't bought it yet, but I probably will before the end of this month, due to their "smokin'" deal, as geep says.

Wow. I guess that pretty much decides it.
