THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Bryce = Poser World?

I'm looking for a program to create worlds for my Poser figs. Can anyone tell me how easy is it to interface between these programs? I want to know what I'm getting into before plunking down another big chunk of change.

I've just started importing Poser figures to Bryce. In fact I came to this forum just now to ask a question about it. Anyway, it's real easy to export from Poser (.obj) then import to Bryce. Everything comes through fine if all the textures are brought with the figure. If not, Bryce will stop and ask you to locate each and every texture assigned to your obj file. But there's one problem I'm having: Although the figures render fine in Poser, they are extremely dark and lose differences in texture shading when imported into Bryce. I imported three ladies, each with different skin tones, into an outdoor scene in Bryce. It's a sunny day with nothing in the scene to cast a shadow. Yet the figures are very dark, their skin tones have changed (they all look alike now), and they have shadows cast all over them in no-descernable pattern. Other than that, it works fine. If anyone can solve this problem, please post! Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback... and the image. I'll be sure to bookmark that tutorial too for Bryce. I've pretty much narrowed down the next purchase between Bryce and 3D Max. Now I just have to do some serious shopping. Hope to post images soon!

I believe Spike had a really good tutorial about using Poser in Bryce--how to set the various materials, etc. Unfortunately, when I had a 'computer crisis', I lost all my bookmarks and don't have the URL. You really need to set all your various settings--diffusion, ambience, specularity, etc.---differently than as imported. This makes all the difference in the world. Hopefully, Spike or someone will give us this URL S. Diane
