Subject: scan resolution questions

Hello. I have been wondering...Is there an optimal scan resolution I should use when scanning a 4" x 6" print for the web?(my renderosity gallery) What about a 8" X 10"...Does the size of the media make a difference. I figure the highest resolution will result in the highest quality, but usually when I assume something I am incorrect. These large scans are hard on my computer. Thanks for listening, and any input will be most appreciated. -Jeff

For posting here I usually scan at 200-300 dpi amd resize.

I think that sounds reasonable. Thanks TobinLam. :-)
