I am trying to figure out which program to use that would allow me to make Poser props, ect. I want to be able to import the objects into poser, UV map them and make my own textures to use with my Poser models. I have Carrara but can't seem to get a handle on it yet. I've tried Amapi but couldnt get my textures to work on it... Any suggestions would be great! Thanks.

To me, Anim8 is pretty easy. (I suck at modelling, too.) It is free, so worth the download to try it. Also, they have some good tutorials on how to use it. I use it for making new textures and transmaps and have had no trouble whatsoever with it. However, if all you want to do is change the textures...Not the design of the clothing, etc., most of the figures, and clothing items come with templates, which can be just painted on. You can find anim8 at www.anim8or.com. Good luck. Poppi

There are several "Free" apps to make props with but it all depends on what it is you want to make. I'd suggest asking in the Carrara/RDS forum for help on your project as long as you already have a very capable program.

Yes , ask for help in the Carrara/RDS forum first. Then you might want to try Rhino. You can d/l a free demo at www.rhino3d.com and give it a shot. I make all my props with Rhino.

You can't call it work if you love it... Zen Tambour

I will take a look at all of your suggestions. I know I can do it in Carrara...but this might take a little longer for me to figure out. I want to make a few quick things like sandles for my figures, ect. Thanks to all.

Rhino is expensive. Anim8or is one of the easiest to use. Milkshape is also usable; it is shareware for about $20. Very easy to get the hang of but chugs on poly-heavy models.
