I downloaded the tbkpreditor_exe.zip file from the poser free stuff and the "Multi dropper" virus was detected by McAfee. I don't know what it does but watch out! Andrew

It's not a VIRUS...if you search in here you'll know that there is nothing wrong with it...my Norton Told Me it's a Back Door something...but so far nothing is happening...i have installed it and i have a FireWall...nothing yet...been waiting for something to happen for the last 3 or months (his first version was same way)

According to Mcafee the virus is made to install trojans. That is all I got- maybe there is none to install?

Do not take any chances, use your anti-virus software and clean the file! Macafee and Norton (Symantic) spend millions per year Identifying virus code. If your scanning sw says it has found virus code in a file. Then the chance that it is a virus is 99%. I need not remind you that many computer viruses lay dormant fo quite a while. Why take the risk. The provider of the file should remove it clean it and repost. Finally waiting for something to happen is just asking for a infected system. Usually by the time you notice any effects of a virus, the damage has been done. There have been certain Microsoft Word macro's that have in the past triggered false virus alerts, but these have been long addressed.

here's a better idea........read the readme file before you install anything.......it clearly states that one should turn off all anti-virus software when installing Predator....must be something about the nature of the installer it was compiled with....i seriously doubt that TBKOEN would purposely place a virus in the Predator installer, especially since he put the information in the readme.......i'd say TBKOEN would be more than happy to explain the whole alledged virus thing if you were to e-mail him and ask what's up.......but be certain, the file is safe....if not, there would be a few thousand disgruntled Poser users posting like crazy to the forum with threats of violence and severe physical mutilation............

I suggest to be safe and not use exe files coming from an person you don't personnally know and trust.I use therefore exe files from Zygote or Daz or Corel because i trust these from the beginning of Poser or Coreldraw, without problem.I never use free stuff in exe format.

This has been addressed before when the Predator file was first offered for public consumption. A lot of installers will create false virus profiles that Anti-virus programs react to. The new Adobe Photoshop 6.01 update will cause some Anti-virus programs to react the same way but believe me there's nothing wrong with their file either. TBKoen did NOT include a virus with his mesh your program only reacted to the benign code.

TRAVISB ( ) posted Tue, 06 March 2001 at 7:50 PM

The reason it comes up as a virus is there are actually two programs one is the predator installer and the other is the animation at the beginning this makes your software read it as a trojon or back door type program no worries its safe

Not the 6.1 update the 6.01 update. Did you not get an email like me? Adobe always alerts me of things like this , I've been a long time loyal support of them.

Adobe Photoshop 6.0.1 Update for English for Adobe Photoshop 6.0 for Windows The Adobe Photoshop 6.0.1 update fixes a number of problems discovered after Photoshop 6.0 was released. The most significant fixes in the 6.0.1 release include: - The painting tool brush picker has new usability improvements including: - Enter brings up and dismisses the preset picker at the current mouse location - Double-clicking a brush in the picker selects the brush and dismisses the picker - The current brush is always highlighted in the preset picker - The current brush indicator always displays the brush size - The First Brush and Last Brush keyboard shortcuts (> and <) work regardless of whether the current brush exactly matches a preset brush - Image clipping paths in EPS and TIFF files saved from Photoshop 6.0.1 have been modified so that software, such as QuarkXPress, is able to read them. - ImageReady is able to save and preview animations under constrained memory conditions. - There is no slow-down of performance when files in the Open Recent list are unavailable. - Batch file naming works correctly. - Export Paths to Illustrator retains path scaling. - Using certain tools, such as the Move, Marquee, or Lasso tool, after using the Open, Save and Print commands no longer generates a Program Error dialog. - Selecting a single color in Color Range now works correctly. - Online help is accessible for more web browser configurations. - New Japanese character map (CMap) files are included to resolve conflicts with ImageStyler 1.0 and PageMaker 6.5.2 Plus. - Memory usage behavior is better on all Windows OSes; the network should no longer become unavailable when Photoshop is running. - Showing and hiding edges for a selection no longer requires pressing Ctrl-H twice. System Requirements Adobe Photoshop 6.0 (English language versions only). Installation Notes To install Photoshop 6.0.1: 1. Disable all virus protection software. 2. Double-click the Setup.exe file. 3. Follow the on-screen instructions. Additional Notes This update is only for the English version of Adobe Photoshop 6.0. If you have a localized language version of Adobe Photoshop 6.0, localized versions of the Photoshop 6.0.1 update will be available in the near future. Check the Adobe Web site at http://www.adobe.com for availability. This update is also available on CD-ROM for $20.00 US plus shipping from Adobe Customer Service. OK! im the creator of this installer...this warning even apears on my computer, but im not worryed about..cause my puter is clean, and i have to be a real dummy ,when i try to infect myself :)the problem with some anti vir program is, they mostly search for silly little characteristicas...like..2 joined exe files...u can join 2 exe files together to 1 exe.. and some anti vir programs searching for those exe files, cause sometimes is the second exe a backdoor trojan..like subseven.. in this case the tbk predator is the first exe file the main archive, and the second a stand alone philipsvideo player.. if u worry about the exe file, why didnt u download the zipped version..(didnt u know, that u can infect even a zip file?) believe me,"IF" i want to infect a puter,im sure i choose a method that is not as easy to detect... and u have to be a real dummy,if u infect any freestuff, with your email adress on it :) dont worry bout that, just relax, and be glad of this realy cool stuff, koen given away
