If any admins feel this is cheating, let me know. And just punish me the loud mouth not the above artist, they are already getting shafted.

Well, where is my entry in this list here. I'm not part of the top 25. Boo hoo!!! Sniff sniff. I worked hard on my entry. Granted I didn't spend weeks and weeks but I'm not on your list! Seriously, I understand what you're saying and these are outstanding images. I really thought most of these would go in the top 25. I had them on my list to vote for. But some I sort of disagree with but others, I think you're right on the mark. Rember I only had one vote and that had to go where I thought it should go. I really think we all should have had three votes. :( This is an argument that is unwinnable. The best we can do is wait and see and hope for the best ones to win. Big Hugs Maria

Maria your image was incredible, I know that you said you didn't work for weeks and weeks on it, that is not the point!!! You did your best!!! The reason these lists don't work is that it's open to people own perception and tastes of what is good..I aggree with some of the above list, Hallo Ween I think is the guy whose Arnold pic is somewhere at the top's second entry, and as it stands his best entry in my opinion is doing well :). Some I don't, thats my opinion.... So Maria don't judge yourself on someone elses opinion, a community is made up of lots of collective people with differing opinions and some will love your images and some might prefer others. Do I aggree that the top 25 contains the best and brightest, heck thats a different story altogether and I am going to keep my opinion to myself, most people may have got legitimate votes from people who do like there work... As Lillian said in the community forum don't be discouraged this could all change on Monday/Sunday when the votes are counted. I do think that one vote was the best way to go, giving people any incentive at all to abuse the system is a mistake, and if voting figures as suggested here are being abused in some way.....what would have happend had they been given three votes?? As for abusing the system, I am guilty of it....I let my husband vote for me, he has my buying account...because lets face it, he buys all my stuff. I did make him vote from work though, the one I.S.P rule as good as it is not a criticism here :) means that as we both have out own accounts we still only have one internet connection and we didn't want to cheat. So yes I did troll, bribe, gain a vote through not exactly voting by own will means, just by fact that there would have been hell to pay if I hadn't Ele

Maria, I did say 'some', so that means there can be other good stuff out there. As far as my choices for the list go, I picked ones that I thought were compositionally strong and/or creative. Do I personally like everything in the list? Not, neccessarily (i.e. half-naked Vickies annoy me), but that doesn't stop me from seeing the strenght of their execution. I did however pass over some of the gore stuff, so I guess I'm not totally strict to art priciples as well. I too hope all comes out well, but part of that hope comes from being a loud mouth and not letting what I see as an injustice go by silently.

i guess there is no solution for this problem... i think there are so many works in contest they should be on top of Voting list...

I understand people are giving votes to whatever they like but please, forget about everything at least please don't forget why we are voting those images.

This Contest named "Dawn of the Dark" and there is a poetry next to title... then i'm lookin to images and i can't understand the subject!... where is the "Dawn of the Dark" where is all subject?... There are some works in contest fantastic but not for this subject, i'm sorry... If i would see them in galleries i could Vote first, but not in this contest...

Anyway... I'm still happy to be in this contest whatever result is gonna be, i know my work and i'm glad i did my best, whatever is gonna happen i'll win anything or not... Cause i love to win in contests, that's one good feeling i can't explain but i don't really care about prizes (they are super, don't take me wrong) i care about creating something, challenging and sharing with people... and hear people love my work...

i hope winners will deserve their gifts... then i can't say anything but happy for them...

This conversation goes on every time with contests using a community vote here at Renderosity. And very rarely in my humble opinion do the best win. The reason is that people do vote for thier friends and I even remember when people some time ago here (un-named of course to protect my wallet:) would trade votes. Cliques and of course near nude pictures will always win out it seems so why bother entering?? I ask myself that question every time I enter a contest in this site and yet every once in a while I do it anyway. Masochism maybe??:) I truly believe that the only way for a contest of this type to be honestly judged is by a panel of chosen judges from start to finish. They then would give thier reasons on why they chose the top winners. Most of the examples in the links in the first post here certainly (and I mean no dis-respect for the artistic qualities of the current top 25) if judged on artistic merit alone should be in the top 25 (again only my humble observation). I am sure some here will say that I am being a poor sport but really every one of the ones in the above list beats the hell out of my entries and I am being truthful about that plus I wish I could do as good a work as some of them (envy:).

Just curious if you all have seen the Semi-Finalist list yet? If not, it might be time to take a peak ;-) Lillian

That is a great solution Lillian. Thank you for your hard work. Everybody should checkout the Semi-Finalist link.

my image did make it to the top 25, for which i am both eternally grateful, and somewhat surprised( but maybe that is a lack of confidence) when i read the post here i looked through imahaters list and had to agree....and then i thought hang on a second.. go back... the last quote reads "Now tell me are all the best and brightess of renderosity represented in the top 25?" well....erm... that all depends on who you are and what your tastes are....this is always going to be a subjective contest as are all on this site, some people like detail , some realism, some abstract etc. etc. should the post heading not read-:these are my choices for the top 25 and i don't agree with the judges?.. well no-one will agree with all the choices- not even the judges themselves who will undoubtedly have to compromise with each other to reach a decision. so ultimately my point is that posts like this are ultimately crass and rather negative and in the end demean the whole system of contests which in my opinion have inspired people (myself included) to get off their arses and try to do something creative. you may have listed your favourites imahater but i am sure that a lot of renderosity members could come up with their own versions of the top 25 but chose not to because they understand the whole subjectivity theory.. in the words of a bryce forum contributer...just my 2p's worth

donniemc0, you seem to be assuming that I didn't approve of anything in the top 25, but that is not what I was saying. I was pointing out that the community vote we riddled with favortism and so forth, by showing a list of worthy works that were being ignored at the time. If you had read down to my last post, you would see that I thought the solutions the admins came up with to solve the problem was fair. Now am I happy with the judges final decisions? No Have I thought of posting my own version of the best? Yes Have I? No, because as I said before it was the inequities of the community voting that I had a problem with. Thank you.
