Subject: missing x,y,z, trans dials

golab ( ) posted Mon, 24 October 2005 at 11:07 AM · edited Wed, 27 November 2024 at 2:40 PM

Heyas,

I am trying to use the CP-Deinonychus free figure from CP, and when I load him I am missing the trans dials.

The scale and rotate dials are fine, and I tried another of the dinos and it's trans dials were fine too.

Now, I used him for a project the other day, and I can not remember if I used the trans dials or not. I think I may have just built the scene around him where he loaded in.

I tried reloading the figure but that did nothing.

Any thoughts or ideas? Is this more likely a model problem or a Poser problem?

Thanks,
golab ed: I just tried all the other dinos, and found another where the trans dials were missing. This must be some issue with the models.

The translate dials are turned off automatically for the feet and hands if IK chains are not activated. Were the IK chains on your figures on or off?

I'll look at that, but the dials I am looking for are the body dials. Would that be affected as well? Thanks, Golab

you are going to have to edit the cr2. Look for the transX,y and z, change the hide value to 0, I belive it's 1 right now.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

Attached Link: Download Updated CR2 only here, full package at ContentParadise.com

It does look like the trans dials are hidden on the Hip and Body. You can either open the CR2 in a text editor and on the BODY and Hip look for the following code blocks: translateX xTran { name xtran initValue 0 hidden 0 forceLimits 0 min -100000 max 100000 trackingScale 0.001 keys { static 0 k 0 0 } interpStyleLocked 0 } translateY yTran { name ytran initValue 0 hidden 0 forceLimits 0 min -100000 max 100000 trackingScale 0.001 keys { static 0 k 0 0 } interpStyleLocked 0 } translateZ zTran { name ztran initValue 0 hidden 0 forceLimits 0 min -100000 max 100000 trackingScale 0.001 keys { static 0 k 0 0 } interpStyleLocked 0 } Change Hidden 1 to Hidden 0 Or you can download the new CR2. --Rebekah--

pssst,Rebekah... If you want to see what I do to your poor dinos look at the Midnight at the oasis post in the Poser 4u forum at RDNA.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

Thanks Rebekah. The other model missing trans dials is the CP-Talarurus. golab

Another option would be to use the above pz2 (pose) file on the character, then save it back to thew library. This should make the translation channels visible, without the need to edit the cr2 in a text editor.

MusroonMan, since there is a corrective Cr2 and a pose file now available, thanks Rebekah and Les, you don't have to edit anything but for you information the file is located in the figure folder and you use your favorite text editor on it.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

I pose file to correct it? There you go making it all easy and making sense! :) --Rebekah--
