Subject: Once again - A favour to ask.

Im ready to throw out punches towards my ISP and my webhost, but before i do, ild like to ask you guys if you could do me a favour. Could you please just check out my webpage and see if its working for you? Currently, i can only see a webpage about windmills!?! Nothing bad about them, windmills are nice, but not exactly what i would like to see at rochr.com...

Hi, Just checked your site via the link you posted. Everything seems ok there. Your gallery has some of your stuff on it, but also has a load of WIP icons instead of pics. Don't know if that's supposed to be the case. Anyway, what pics I did see, 'THE DEAD' etc come up quick and clean and no problems as far as I could see... Hope this helps. Chris

Tried with Firefox and IE, and both are "Server Not Found"

Rochr ( ) posted Tue, 25 October 2005 at 12:28 PM

Thanx a lot for the help guys. The darklit city sound like a backup from an earlier update, but the wip icons are normal. This is really screwed up. I cant figure out why it works for some viewers, while others get errors. I even tried accessing the domain with its IP 66.78.12.69, but then i get to another totally unfamiliar page. Arrghh

Opened fine for me, been all round the site with out a problem. On dialup here as well, opens quicker than the game site i'm admin on, even your gallery does. 1:30am West Australian time.

I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.

danamo ( ) posted Tue, 25 October 2005 at 12:38 PM

I had no probs here Rudy! The page opened up immediately (10:36 PST USA) and I was able to see all your pictures. Your site looks excellent as well. Of course, Digital Echoes is right here in my home state, but I doubt that has anything to do with it.

No problems using AOL browser

Firefox, Opera and even Internet Exploder did a flawless job in showing the splendour. http://66.78.12.69/ show the missing link, the one who made that website sure missed a few things, like being in the right line when brains where handed out.

At least most of you seem to be able to access the page, which is slightly reassuring. (:)

I tried the link and got your page with no problems. However, when I put in the IP, I got windmills.

Could be worse, could be raining.

Claymor ( ) posted Tue, 25 October 2005 at 1:55 PM

Ok...so... I clicked on your link above and got to the correct site just fine. Then I entered the IP address you gave and got the windmills page. Next I looked up rochr.com on WhoIS to see what IP address they had for you and got a different one than what you have listed above. I got this: 66.78.12.73 THAT address goes to the correct site.

Rochr ( ) posted Tue, 25 October 2005 at 2:09 PM

Claymor, Thanx man, youve just saved my day!!! :) So thats where those little buggers put it. Never heard of that IP before, but ill send this to my domain host now. If they dont fix it really soon, ill strangle them with my tentacles. Thanx a lot guys.

I clicked on the link you gave and it took me right to your website working correctly as far as I could see. Using Windows 98 and IE. However... when I clicked on the link for "prints" it took me OUT of your site entirely and into a site for "Digital Echo Design" with an assortment of your images for purchase but no direct link BACK to YOUR site other than just clicking my browser's back button. The page looks just close enough like your site that at first I thought it was still yours but clicking on the links at the top (Home, the gallery, etc.) did not go to your site as I expected. Don't know if you want to do anything about that or not, but maybe having your site set so that clicking on the "Prints" button opens a new window.

There's something weird going on, definitely. One, the IP listed in WHOIS givwes the windmills. OTOH, the IP listed for my site says "no site configured on this address". It's probably because of dynamic IPs. Two, rochr.com gives that dark city. (And that one is weird too. Something is messing up the layout of the frames. I don't think that HTML links should start with ./, only with ../) Three, ftp.rochr.com is open, with just incoming directory. Four, the IP of your DNS server connects to a server. The name of mine just hangs there in the address bar. It appears your hosting service messed DNS somehow. Or something.

The site works fine for me in both IE and Opera, no layout issues. I didn't check the ftp area though...
