Hey all, I posted this in the Vue section and posted a similar message in the Bryce section. Presently I am looking at adding one of these two programs to my software list. What I want to know from users of Bryce and Vue is what they love about the program, what they don't like, its compatability with Poser and how you work with it with poser. How easy it is to use and learn. Tell me all about Vue! If you use both, tell me the differences in the applications, which does what better and so forth. Thank you for helping make this important decision. :)

Not a expert, but Vue has better vegetation, light and material room, bryce doesn't have ecossystem also that is a huge difference...

There is also the section 'Compare Vue and ... ' in the Backroom, with a few links to the same question. The bottom line is that regardless what people like or dislike between the two software, nothing beats downloading and installing the demo to give it a try yourself :)

Well if you want interoperability between your scenic program and your poser. Vue is the ONLY way to go in my opinion. I'm just about ready to upgrade Vue 5 Easel after just a week because it works so well with Poser.

Are we talking about Vue 5E or Infinite...totally different animal. Bryce works w/ DAZ studio and new c5 does too, bones and all. The c5 also has the replicator, very nice one. Both vue5 E and bryce don't export worth a darn and on vue no poser animation unless you buy mover.

I've used Bryce 5 and Vue Infinite. It would be unfair to compare those two since they don't cost the same (Bryce at around $100, Vue Inf at around $600). If you can afford Vue 5 Esprit (around $250), then that's what I'd do. It's well ahead of Bryce in it's feature set. Whichever you choose, make sure you budget yourself some time to learn some postwork techniques. Good luck!

I started out in 2d and been a photoshop (I'd say moderate level) user for about 10 years. My postwork is pretty good :) Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments.

I have the description of both programs on my website. In Brief: Actually Vue 5 Infinite is far far far ahead of Bryce 5.5 Obviously it is also more expensive. But extra money you have to pay for Infinite is largely compensated by wonderful, reliable and unique Infinite features that Bryce does not have and probably will never have. What is the future of both programs? Vue 5 is under constant & intense development by e-on Bryce lost its race 4 years ago, actually DAZ3D is promising to release a new version before the end of this year, but I wouldn't expect any miracles - the gurus of Bryce left it alone long time ago, and it would be very hard for DAZ3D to catch up with Vue after 4 years of doing nothing with Bryce.

And DAZ Studio is nowhere near Poser in it's abilities.
