How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

DOnt know the English work for that...but that makes it funnier :) & Doug WHAT A CAKE!!!!! With a hippo & a Zebra WOW!!! :) Yes Andreas said quite nice things....acctually a song... Hsppy Birthday, Modesty. I'm used to seeing this language every day on Accordion Evergreen at yahoogroups. We've got lots of extreme northern Europeans on that list. :) Whatever language it is looks like one of those. BTW, I think Zacko's right. That photo above looks to me like a globe thistle that's covered with ice. Maybe the English word you're looking for is "thistle."
